Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Lost it all.

    Okay so i hit this guy on the day is -11 in columbus, ohio. I go to the juvenille court today and they say since your 16 we automaticly restrict your driving for 6 months. i cant go to work anymore now so i quit my job. i have to sell my cb7. I waste all my money getting my license and in my car. THEN! the guy is trying to sue me, the story is he was bout to turn right then slams his breaks and i cant stop because im on ice (not one scratch to his CAR!!!!) my bumper gets cracked, he gets out screaming at me then he goes to the hospital because his "NECK" hurts. Hes lucky i was the civilized one and didnt get out and show him what i wanted to do . TELL ME WHAT U THINK OF THIS BS!

    Welcome to owning and operating a motor vehicle. It's the reason they make you have insurance and tell you to slow down and stay farther back when it's icy and slippery out. It sucks, but why do you have to sell the car? your insurance should cover most of the bills.

        I was like 500+ feet back he kept hesitating to go then he slams his breaks, NO ONE was coming . He tryed calling his cop buddies. they showed up and THEY knew me already i was like you gotta be kidding me. (im a good driver i do all the staying back etc) there was no way of me avoiding him.

          Also i have to sell the car because i cant pay the insurance if i have no job, i have like no money left because of him, and hes sueing me too so i gotta pay for a lawyer. plus if no ones gonna drive car for 6 months id much rather let someone else own this wonderful car.

            O RLY? I know how fast you have to be going to slide 500 feet on ice. That's almost two football fields.

            Why do you have to sell the cb7? Your parents? nm - you answered while I typed.

            You don't have to insure it if you're not driving it. Put it in the driveway, take the tags off of it and work on it until you can drive it again. Cheaper than selling it and buying another one in 6 months.

              well it was a 50 mph speed limit so im going like 45 because of the ice, i start to slow down and the breaks just start fluttering, my parents said that theres no point in having car so get money outta it i guess. the speed i hit him at was 5 mph...so you see i was pretty close to stopping but mr slam my breaks just had to slam his breaks and not go.

                Talk to your parents about the financial issues with selling and buying another one. Explain that you'd like to use the time to become more knowledgeable about auto mechanics, along with putting in work on your whip to make it a safer, more reliable vehicle when you get your license back. In 6 months you can know so much about your car it's not funny, plus you'll have a car that you know about, not something you bought for a few hundred bucks off criagslist with all the unknown problems. maybe give them a few days to calm down. Speak to them calmly and rationally, don't fly off the handle, state your case like a responsible adult. I am far more likely to listen to Snowboarder and BluBlur when they approach me as men, not teenagers.

                  very good idea thank you visualpoet. very good response. i think that will help alot. i go to tolles right now for mechanics anyway so i learn alot everday too

                    Just doing my part to help out teen/parent relations across the country. And now I'm off. There's an 18 yr old girl that needs to get her daddy's attention in a big way out in Cali!

                      who was in the car with you? maybe their .02 might help you out? its prob too late now though... u already got shafted i guess.

                      what exactly is he trying to sue you for... he doesnt have a scratch... what can he even sue you for? sounds like it would get thrown out unless he has some insanely awesome lawyers


                      that actually happened to me last winter when i first got my cb. someone slammed their brakes to make a right at a stoplight like they forgot their way home or something and i went underneath them. it was just a beater truck, i slid under him and destroyed my hood from the grille to about 1/3 of the way up. i didnt stop though... it was his fault technically but i would have been at the short end of the stick.

                        Gotta love people with no insurance
                        Rear ended someone and they had no insurance so it was all good

                        Although watch out if he sues you
                        They are alllowed to take FUTURE earnings these days and liquidate your assets.
                        More likely your parents will get the grunt of the lawsuit since your under 18
