ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    just want opinions

Ok I know we all love cb's. But my heart belongs to my old 85 300zx turbo. I was wondering which I should do, keep my cb and mod it or should I save up to by another 85 300zx. The car is very fast and very fun. Any opinions would be nice.

Well I like both in hight school I wanted an 86, to do one it would be three times more money to fix up the Nissan and alot harder to find one. the cb7 is an easy one to find and mod and cheaper then a Nissan it all depends on your wallet and time.

This is true my wallet lol the spiders done moved out lol. I can find them just not rust free. Bu not to knock the cb they are slow and with out turbo will cost a lot to go fast with the z31 all stock internals can handle around 700hp. So bolt on a new bigger turbo might be cheaper than completely building an f22a6 just to hit the 200hp of the z. I don't know which will be cheaper. I don't know much about the cb.

It's your car and your money, YOU need to decide what to do.
Your asking this on a forum that is dedicated to CB's, So don't be surprised if people say "Throw the 300 in the scrap and mod the CB"

The CB weighs more yes, and the lowest spec CB makes about 90hp less than the turbo 300, the F22a6 makes 60hp less than the turbo 300.

220-300 hp can easily be achieved in the CB for less than $2000 shopping around.

It's really as I said - What do YOU want?

A "Finished" project car is never finished until its been sold.

If at first you don't succeed, Try again. Don't give up too easily, persistance pays off in the end.

The 85 300zx turbo wasn't that great a car. It actually weighed a little more than the same as a CB7 (around 3000 lbs, roughly), the turbo V6 put out a whopping 200 hp at the crank, only ran the 1/4 in the high 15s, and it's only a two seater, unless you can find an 2+2, which was even heavier and slower. The stock internals would however, as stated, take some abuse, but that was 26 years ago. I worked for Nissan around 90-91, and I've probably driven 100 Z31 chassis Fairladies. Stick with the Honda.

I've got less than $2000 in my CB (N/A), including the car, and I can run the turbo Z31 all day when I find them on the street. If your love was the Z32, it's a different story altogether. It actually had some balls.

The Z31 in good condition could handle a good amount of power... but unless you drop some serious cash for one that was meticulously maintained or restored, or restore one yourself, you're not going to be making 700hp! A turbo Z31 that hasn't been beat to shit is going to run you a good chunk of cash.
As visualpoet said... the CB7 may be a bit slow without mods, but so is the Z31. It is NOT a fast car from the factory by today's standards.

            I'm a Z fan myself. I'd love a Z32, personally.

Get what you like. Honestly, any car can be made fast. The CB7 can get into the 13s and still be a reliable, streetable, naturally aspirated daily driver.

Even today, the TT Z32 makes my pants a little tighter. That was a fantastic car, especially for it's day. It ranks up ther with a Conquest or Starion as one of my 'WILL HAVE' cars.

I like the input it seems very honest. So far I'm with u guys on keeping the cb. I just need a faster car. The z was my first fast car. "Well to me its fast". And I've drove a 99 corvette and a 00. But they didn't seem very special fast oh yes very fast. But felt like I was driving a huge car. The z handled good had the electronic suspension like the vet. Had t tops. I love the fact it was 2 seater. Now with the cb. Deevergote you say NA the cb can hit 13's. At what price range? .... my comment I do love the z32 but way outa my price range...... and off subject of my subject what kinda jobs do u guys have. I can't find crap in newark ohio. Again thanks for the input
