ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

This is a very broad question.
....Describe your scenario.MRT
37.5 MPG, AC on, cruising at 80.
30.0 MPG, AC on, aggressively driving around 90.
27.5 MPG, no AC, cruising at 90 with occasional gridlock. 40 degrees Fahrenheit
Lots of DIY videos specifically for our car
Get some awesome wipers! <-- It's a DIY

Honda vs Honda, maybe.
Honda vs Ferrari, absolutely not.
Like GeoffM said, thats too broad of a question. It all depends on who you're racing and what the other dude is driving and what he got under the hood, etc. Thats like asking "Does turbo matter in a race?" Yeah sure if your racing somebody without turbo, you would probably smash. But racing another vehicle equiped with turbo or just plain faster than your shit, turbo probably won't make a difference.

It's 1/2 a tank of Shell V-Power gas and 1/2 a tank of Chevron Techron. The results are CRAZY!!!
HardInThePaint, Ferrari has their own form of variable valve timing, much like VTEC. Honda was the first company to successfully use such technology in a large scale on affordable consumer vehicles (I believe others tried it, BMW is one, but Honda had the greatest success.)
VTEC isn't turbo. It isn't some magic power booster. It is a way of using 2 (or more, or infinite) cam profiles on a single camshaft... essentially switching cams to make for a broader powerband. Without VTEC, the H22A would have either a very weak low end and good high-end power, or a very strong low end and no high-end power.
People that don't know what VTEC is, and how it works, often think it's some sort of magic. It's just one part of an overall engine design. That's it. For what it is, and what it does, it is fantastic technology... especially for the time it was released in the mainstream market.
Also, the 1992 Acura NSX with it's 270hp 3.0L C30A VTEC V6 engine was able to run a faster 1/4 mile than a 1992 Ferrari 348 (which is what the NSX was gunning for.) The 348 has a 3.4L V8 making 300hp, without any sort of variable valve timing. The weight difference between the cars was about 100lbs (the NSX being lighter.) 100lbs is fairly insignificant, especially with a smaller, less powerful engine.
For the underpowered (by comparison) NSX to be able to out-accelerate the 348 says quite a bit about the usefulness of the technology. The NSX may not have had as much power, but it was able to use more of that available power throughout a wider powerband. THAT is the strength of VTEC.
