My girlfriend's Integra has a sort of worn out door lock which I can easily open with my Accord keys ( found out i could do it on accident when I needed to get in to her car and I thought my keys were hers).

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Cb7 Master Key Exists

If it was a Genuine "Master key" as you said it was, ThenOriginally posted by Jaysson_2012 View PostAnd i do not have access to the key. it is not mine. And posting a picture of it is the LAST thing i would do. giving the world access to any cb7 sounds like a BAD idea.
#1 - How did "The Asians" get it
#2 - How/Why did Honda release it to anyone other than a dealer.
#3 - Why was it created in the first place?
Agreed.Originally posted by Tippey764 View PostKnowing how a lock works i find this very unbelievable that 1 key could work multiple locks
Unless it could adjust or something.
ALL used the same key blade, across every market. You have to imagine out there somewhere are a few cars with identical keys and locks.
A key that is "Cut very un-precisely" - You mean an old worn key.Originally posted by Jaysson_2012 View PostI googled master keys. And i think what the asians have (no offense to asians) is a key that is cut very un-precisely so that it can work like a "jiggler" key.
Jiggler keys have been around for years, Like I said - Thieves.
Car Safety / General Servicing Checks --------Basic suspension checks
My 5.7 LS1 Holden Ute
A "Finished" project car is never finished until its been sold.
If at first you don't succeed, Try again. Don't give up too easily, persistance pays off in the end.

I'm asian. And a master key is mostly a honda or acura key that has ben shaven slimmer and has more teeths cut into it so more grooves. U can get into mostly older hondas and acuras. Maybe even some newers. If u know how to jiggle the key. U can also get a shaved key. And. Take it to get itcopied too.

So basically what I'm hearing is there isn't a "master key" but a key that can be cut that can open many types of older Hondas and such, maybe by cutting it a certain way so when you mess with it and jiggle it around it can manipulate the lock and eventually turn it.
IDK, thats pretty hit and miss with a thief. The key might work or it might not. Thieves are better off just hot wiring or making a key to your shit and save themselves the trouble.
I doubt that.Originally posted by Jaysson_2012 View PostIt's a felony to have one.

Come on man, being in posession of a Honda "master key" could not and would not be a felony... anywhere. You're saying having a car key that happens to open other people's cars you would catch a felony over? Not a misdemeanor but a felony? That could just be your key to your Honda that happens to turn other locks. You have to look at the logics of law along with burden of proof and intent. It MIGHT be considered possession of burglary tools, which in some states is a low level felony. But a felony by itself just having it? Get real.Originally posted by Jaysson_2012 View PostIdk where you live, but where i do, yes it IS a felony.

And you being a "dgk" for a bad neighborhood doesn't make you a law student by any stretch of the imagination.
So what is the exact charge they would give you if you were in possession of a Honda "master key"? Since you know the laws and all...

a master key was never made.altho a shaved honda key works nicely.by shaved key i mean taking a premade honda key and file it down some and wiggle and bam.i have to say tho if its a honda key for anyhonda, for the older cars its almost a givin that it will open or start another honda..my coupe keys start and open my white 4 door and my wifes 4dr.so far with my coupe keys i have opened and started 10 cars civics and accords.o and no you can not just simply shave a key with a file.thers a Technic for if and im not tellin.

lol not to thread jack but usually when im in the yard and im honda searchin i always grab the 2nd key in the cb if it had one in it still to try them on my accord at home just outta curiosity of how close the cut is. anyone else?Originally posted by Tippey764 View PostKnowing how a lock works i find this very unbelievable that 1 key could work multiple locks

And i have seen a few times keys that work other cars that they are not for
My $150 accord and brown accord has very similar keys, the $150 accords keys could work the brown accord.
I found a key at the junkyard that lets me into my brothers civic
Think about it
every 1990-2002 honda accord
1992-2001 honda prelude
1995-2004 honda odyssey
1990-2001 acura integra
1992-1994 acura vigor
1997-2003 acura cl
1996-2003 acura tl
1991-2005 NSX
any maybe a few others
ALL used the same key blade, across every market. You have to imagine out there somewhere are a few cars with identical keys and locks.

seriously... everyone seem to be getting their panties in a bunch! I know it is a felony because my friend got arrested with a key ring with about 8 shaved keys. and he is facing felony charges. I just thought i would be helpful and warn the people who actually like their cb7s.Originally posted by HardInThePaint View PostCome on man, being in posession of a Honda "master key" could not and would not be a felony... anywhere. So it had nothing to do with you being a dgk from the hood but its because your homie got caught with entire key ring of shaved keys...Originally posted by Jaysson_2012 View PostI know it is a felony because my friend got arrested with a key ring with about 8 shaved keys.
Lol, I can understand catching a felony over that.

We tried it at the Rutgers meets a couple years back. It seemed that only one members key opened 6 or so cars. I know that having a new lock did not help or hinder. It was equally easy to open our cars just due to the design.Originally posted by deevergote View PostThere isn't really a master key... just a number of key grinds that are either identical, or very similar (and over the years, wear has caused them to work in other locks.)
A number of people here have been able to work other locks and ignition switches with their own keys. We used to try it at meets, though I never saw it happen in person. My key has never opened anyone else's car.
