ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Why, for the bitching, or the asshole replies to the bitching?

The difference is that somewhere in the asshole replies, a useful answer was actually given!

So mods just delete threads without sending a PM to the OP to tell them why? That is F#@ked up! Even the mods on HT give their members that courtesy. You want people to follow the rules, then the mods should be the ones guiding the new members, not just deleting threads and telling the member to search......

HT is actually full of information...... however, you have to be able to do your own research and sift through the BS sometimes.

im new so the rules are fresh to me,and i was wondering if this stuff in this thread is considered flaming? As i understand, the rules say respect each other, and most thread topics are not descriptive in any way, period, just like this one.

When a member makes 2 threads on the same topic, and one gets deleted... is it really necessary to explain why? Explaining what the mods to to every member that can't follow the rules in the first place simply opens up a dialog between the mod and that member... which usually results in that member getting pissed off and arguing. It's pointless.

The rules are there. Common sense, while not so common, dictates 99% of what the moderators do here, and what is expected of members.

The rules are there to be followed. The moderators are there to enforce the rules. They are not there to spoon feed and coddle the lazy. If your thread disappears, re-read the rules (or read them for the first time, in most cases.) If you still don't understand why, politely ask a moderator why it was deleted. If they weren't the one that deleted it, they can tell you who did, and you can ask them. If you ask politely, you will probably get a polite response. When you make a crybaby thread asking "what the HELL?" then of course the reply is going to be in the same vein.

GhostAccord, you are very knowledgeable, and you do a fantastic job of offering useful advice to the noobiest of noobs. However, if I were to make you a moderator, and ask you to do the "babysitting" that I and the 3 most active mods on this site do, I expect you'd be responding in much the same way in about 3 weeks. Trust me... for every one thread like this you see, there are 5 more threads, PMs, or 'visitor message' exchanges that you do not see. The mods here take a truckload of shit for doing their jobs... and they continue to do those jobs pretty damn well.

In most cases, yes. If a moderator hadn't responded with well-deserved hostility, then the non-staff members here may have gotten themselves banned for a day or two for their comments. However, I (and the other mods) usually feel it is in poor taste to hold people accountable for following the lead of a staff member.
Perhaps evil_demon_01 could have reacted a bit more politely, as could I... but we did not. Nobody went beyond the tone we set, so we've decided not to hold anyone accountable for their actions in this particular case.

Had evil_demon_01 simply said "search!" in the thread he deleted, rather than deleting it... and didn't provide that link... then I probably would have banned HIM, staff or not, for it.

And the OP has made about a million threads lately asking questions that can easily be found by reading the stickies, or by searching. People that don't help themselves sure as shit aren't going to get help from anyone else, just my $0.02....

The OP has already had 4 threads deleted. 2 by evil_demon_01, one by me, and one by himself (at my urging, because I felt I'd take pity on him and not ban him for trying to sell in this section.)

I have the utmost respect for what you guys do. I wouldn't be able to do it. I know that I would be telling people to piss off a lot sooner than 3 weeks. I can be a dick that way. Sure I'll help the noobs. Usually it's the ones that seemed to have at least tried to help themselves first. However it's only the ones I feel like helping, mods have to put up with all of them....

I understand that and now that I see that the OP has multiple threads. I would have probably deleted them both then deleted this one and told him what was up. As much as it isn't a mods job to babysit. It's basic common courtesy to help people when you can. That's what I find makes most Accord communities different than the other Honda communities...... Maturity & respect!

The NSX and S2K communities are on another level.

I appreciate the positive comments as well.
