ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Every head gasket I've seen blow was after overheated, every bottom end I've seen trashed was from run without oil, every timing belt I've seen go was way past its service interval.

Burnt exhaust valves are probably the most serious problem I've seen from one of these engines (not counting boosted motors) that wasn't a direct result of neglect.

I heard long ago that the F22A4 had exhaust valve issues. The F22A4 is identical to the F22A1 in all ways aside from the exhaust manifold. I wonder if that could potentially be the cause of it.

its funny cause I have had timing belts break on plenty of Honda motors I have worked on and never touched a valve.

also have helped build some Honda motors making 400-500hp on stock distributor

and of course a stock 5-speed trans can hold tons of hp that's not what it was designed for that's why there is aftermarket internals for them

Moving this to OT, since it's not really a technical question, or useful information. It's just a bit of venting.

i really wish people would stop calling these motor's . they are engine's not motor's . a motor is a electrical device made of electric magnets ECT... . a engine ( like the one in our car's ) is gas powered and use gasoline to crate combustion to crate compression to drive the piston witch in turn puerperal's the car .
this was put together by evil_demon_01 . You can also fined all this and more by him in the Common Beginner Technical Info can be found in here. PLEASE READ HERE FIRST

It's "an" engine and I'm pretty sure that motors and/or engines do not have the ability to poses, therefore there is no need for the apostrophe. Also, I think the word you were looking to use here was "create" not crate..... If you really want to get all anal about it!

Oh and what is "puerperal's"? Is this word supposed to be propels? Again, no need for he apostrophe.

Had a few drinks tonight? I apologize if English isn't your first language.......

To those who have snapped their timing belt before, did the incident ever cause damage to the valves (specific question for cb7s)?

Engines are motors, but not all motors are engines. A waterwheel is a motor, but a waterwheel is not an engine. Electric motor is a type (or class) of motor, just as engines are a type (or class) of motor. Combustion engines are engines, and are therefore also motors. Internal combustion engines are a combustion engines, therefore combustion engines are also a type (or class) of motor, and internal combustion engines are engines (and therefore motors). Gasoline powered internal combustion engines, such as the stock H and F series motors discussed on this forum, constitute are a very narrowed type of motor, and even engines for that matter. Interestingly... all motors are also engines as well. You see that? I lied to you in the very first sentence; I'm glad you stuck with me! The two words aree essentially synonyms, though in certain contexts they impart extra meaning depending on which is used. Usually the word motor is used in contexts where the motion generated by the motor is of greater focus, and engine is used in contexts where the system (or engine) doing the work to create that motion is of greater focus.

Hope this helps clear things up!

haah this guy motorhead is hilarious. he clearly has no idea about honda engines and engineering. especially 4th gens which have been proven time and time again to be one of the most reliable engines ever made out of all car makes ever made. electrical problems?? this aint no European car which would be known for electrical flaws. never on a cb. rods and valves will last as long as you dont try to over revv your stock internals which would be a noob mistake by any tuner who dont kno how to build. deev i kno people have their opinions but this guy is ban worthy. he makes no sense upon the facts he has tried to state in this thread and is only forum bashing. sounds like a muscle car guy IMO.

You've been here for 2 months. Please don't tell me how to run my site.

Bashing Accords doesn't get you banned. Bashing other members does. Right now, you're a hell of a lot closer to being banned than he is.

Just clarifying on the difference between motor and engine. How they're essentially the same, up until the point that they're not (last sentence in the post). Just my synopsis is all. Take it or leave it.
