ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Decided to finally post and ask for advice

Been lurking for a while, long story short, used to own a Grand Prix GXP, it was stolen, bought an '84 944, it broke like they do, bought my Accord and a CRX for $2000, made an autocross toy out of the CRX, motor locked up for no reason, sold it, focusing on the CB7 now.

Shortly after I got her (side mirrors were green when I bought her).

    As she sits right now.

    Current mods

16x7 BBS wheels from a Volvo V40, AP1 muffler (came on the car), 92/93 coupe tail light swap, minor stereo upgrades, terrible plastidip job to at least be one color than a few, blacked out grille, and a few other things I'm forgetting.

    Next mods

Koni/Ground Controls, tint, lip spoiler, one piece headlights, a proper paint job, and a new heart.

    Now for the questions

Opinions on paint, I'm going with a factory color, I just want some input. I'm thinking either Celestial Blue, Cappuccino Brown, Geneva Green, or redo the Charcoal Granite.

And the other question, the new heart, H22A or H23v? I'm planning a small turbo build for just a nice cruising car with another power for some stoplight fun.

redo the Charcoal Granite that way you can avoid cutting into door jambs, engine bay etc plus it just makes sense because I rarely see that color let alone shiny and new. What did you do with Honda rims in first picture ?

If you want to turbo why not just turbo the F motor? You will also be able to get an H23A JDM VTEC cheaper and in newer (possibly less beat on) shape. The H23A is a lesser of the two motors IMO. Both would cost more to turbo and are more complex than an F22Ax.

That's what I was thinking, I like the color, but if I thought if I was gonna paint it I'd go for something new. I still have them, not sure if I'm going to keep them, put them on my roommate's car, or sell them.

Current motor is just shy of 317k, I'd planned on getting whatever motor and building it a little at a time so I can continue to drive the car, seeing as every time I fix the Porsche it breaks a month or two later, so I'm getting a second motor regardless. I'd never thought of the H23A being lesser than the H22, which is why I'm here, all my Honda friends are either D or B series guys.

I do have another question, which transmission should I go with? It currently has a tired auto. End goal is 400 whp, wishfully thinking/hoping.

ouch too far but they looked nice I like them more then bbs ones but maybe its because I have worked for Volvo for years now and I see bbs rims all the time and I just don't like them much

Build a motor and mate it with a transmission of your choice and then drop it in. If you are looking to build a motor you could do something fancy with the F block and reach that 400whp goal reliably.

Or go crazy and get an F22b block bored over to match with an H23A non-VTEC head and forged pistons and match it with a decent lsd 5spd and drop the whole boat in then turbo it.

Search around the site, the sky is the limit.

Those BBS wheels are so clean. One of my favorites for a CB
