ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    165k Service?

So my local Honda dealership mailed me a little reminder saying that my car was due for its 165k service. But they didn't tell me what it is.

    What is this service?

    Should I have it done?

    What will it costly roughly?

If anyone has input to these questions I would appreciate it. I know 90k is a big one... never heard of 165k. AND I don't want to go in their with them giving me a laundry list that I don't need.

you also have to remember that the dealers dont follow honda of americas schedule and often make their own.

Not to be a dick but id like to know where that info comes from?

My father works for Honda here in fla and he does the 150point inspections.

They DO go by the guides supplied by Honda when servicing vehicles, that is untill they know it like the back of their hand.

Im not speaking for ALL Honda dealerships, btw.

Had to respond to this because I'm almost exactly at 165k, too.
They probably won't do anything you can do on your own or with a fellow cb7tuner's help.

I work at Honda NZ and we have a certain service schedule that we follow for all services, weather it be 10k or 400k. Not sure why 165K is relevant, maybe 165miles?

its common for the dealerships to make their own scheduled maintenance books. and it advertises for the dealer

Thats what most people dont realise, A service only inspects the items, replace's engine oil and filter, then you pay extra for anything else that is needed. IE, sparkplus, brake pads, airfilter etc.
At $100 and hour (NZD) it works out to $220 for a service.

BTW NZ's service schedule is every 10,000kms

Yeah Yeah. But I don't like talking on the phone or what not, plus I knew they'd just tell me that I need it.

Thanks 91-accord lx. Since it really does just look like those things it looks pretty useless considering I can do any of that myself... Or at least figure how to do it with Haynes' help.

                            Thanks guys.
