ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I mean I know having the baffle would be better I guess but would it be actually be worth crawling through the mud and shit that i'm gonna have to do out there to get it off the car lol? The Honda I found it on is gonna be a bitch to get it off of but oh well, they are pretty cheap on their prices. Thanks for this thread because I had the same question and was going to post it this morning. I saw F22A6 yesterday and was WTF. But then again this is my first CB7 so I still have alot to learn.

dont take the motor apart. just get the entire thing. the windege tray isnt worth going thru all the crap for it. just get the entire motor out of it and swap it in. the majority of the a6 motors(that ive seen) have been driven by old people or women who dont know what they have. lol. so the motor should be in good shape.

when i was living in MD i found an a6 in a '91 SE. full black leather interior and all. the car only had like 50k on it. i was freakin siked about it. but like 3/4 of the car was crushed. it was in an accident and rolled over. so i just took the a6 IM off of it.

get the motor out of it. do a tune up on it, oil seals and all and you should have a perfectly running a6

I believe the A6 also came in the 91 EX wagon. I'm not positive on this though.

Yeah I would do that but people have kind of went through and taken whatever they needed off of the engine. I haven't checked the other ones out though because when we got there they were about to close and we had ALOT more stuff to do that day. I went back today and got a price list from them though and they sell their engines for $200.00 so I am DEFINITELY going to be making a phone call tomorrow and seeing what they have in stock. I know they had alot of them sitting inside their storage building but like I said we were short on time so I didn't get a chance to look.

dont worry about what they've already taken off the car. all the parts you have bolt and hook right up to that motor. all the motors are the same with the exceptions of the a4's exhaust manifold, the a6's cam, intake manifold and ECU. all the wires and tranny will hook right up. all you need is the motor and ECU.

the header you have on the motor in your car now will bolt right up to it. along with the dizzy and wiring. just get the motor and ECU and put everything back in its place when you put the a6 in

Yeah I wish I could. I have never done a swap before even if it would be a simple one i'm not sure when I would have the time for the car to be immobile long enough to do it. I mean as far as taking the time to do the A6 swap, if he has a H22 he will sell me either engine for the same price. But then again the money spent on axles, suspension, and everything else to do the h22 swap could go for a turbo A6 and still have wheels or other mods. Who knows, i'll just have to see what he has out there before I can figure out the best way to go. Thanks for the help info/help though.

so which years/models came with an A4 motor?

are you guys sure that A6 is only 92-93?

A6 from manual cars do not have an OEM oil cooler
A6 from auto cars have The OEM oil cooler similar to the ones found on the f22b,h23, h22.

                    there you go

No one ever confirmed this when I posted it before, but I'm pretty sure the A6 was in the 91 EX wagon.
