ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    ebay header

i just bought/installed a cheap ass ebay stainless steel header and downpipe. now my car makes this squealing noise. it usually depends on how hard i press the throttle and i usually begin hearing it about the same time i hear my short ram growl. it does however start to go away as i near redline. wat is this? it almost sounds like a belt squeal, but i know its coming from the exhaust. i also have a gutted cat... so wat is causing this noise? anybody with a similar problem?

wat would adjusting my idle do if it does this while i'm goin down the road? and i just replaced the belts.... they're new... i swear its comin from my exhaust. it just sounds like a mix between a rattle and a squeal, unlike anything i've heard come from an exhuast b4.....

Try tightening all the exhaust bolts again. Maybe you're getting a little vibration stress or rubbing somewhere.

It might not be leaking enough to tell. Try tightening everything up, check to see if it's rubbing or touching anywhere, and just for kicks, check your belts.

When you put all your bolts back on the header, did you use thread lock? It might be leaking just enough to make the noise you hear.

usually with ebay headers, you'll notice some vibrations around 2-2.5 rpms. I think its because of the poorer quality and manufacturing of the pipings. And if the squeal is actually more like a vibration then I think a possible cure is to heat wrap the header. Or beat yet, save up more money and buy a DC or one of the better name brand. Have fun!

i have a whistle at about the same time, depending on how hard i push on the gas.. and just before the short ram grumbles.

                          and i also have a vibration/rattle at 1750 rpms.
but i have a stock exhaust header

                          mines from my short ram..
                          im sure of it

its like a whistle/squeal/rattle... lol hard to explain.... excuse my stupid question, but wat does thread lock do and how would that help? i was also begining to wonder if thats just the way they sound. a musical instrument makes noises when you blow thru tubes, maybe it was just the way it was designed and it makes noises as air passes thru it
