ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Racing tips. Be one with the engine, dont use your tach to shift use your ears, you'll know when. If some punk tries to sweet talk your girl then fuck his wife later after youve pounded his car on the black top.

that is so true man, the truck i'm driving right now doesn't even have a tach so i just listen to the engine and shift when it sounds like it's ready to.

There is only one perfect point to brake and gas on a turn, but if you're not sure is better to brake early and step on the gas early then doing it late. If you don't race by points try to be second place most of the race and by the last 10 laps make the pass so you can max stress on the leader and win for sure, don't forget to be smooth on braking and turning it will help on grip. These tips were tought to me by a professional race driver and it works.

auto from the roll = epic fail!

autos are a little faster from start due to no shifting or nothing

stupid question: When starting from a stop (in regards to clutch, brake, gas), what is the difference between doing a burnout and having a clean start?

Both include some rpms (same foot using the brake I assume), off the brake, and popping the clutch to a degree. But what's the difference?

Would you say a burnout is more rpms and clutch popping compared to a taking off from the line is less rpms and less clutch popping?

you need to practice and figure out at what rpm you can launch hard without spinning tires. obviously you don't want to "drop" the clutch too quickly or you will just spin and go nowhere.

Also remember the heel-toe technique when downshifting

not so much with fwd as to rwd. I have never really needed to in my accord but in my rx7 if I dont and im slowing down fast I have to so I dont shift lock.

im too tall to heel-toe but i tried it and it does keep the RPMs up.

Close all your windows when racing= less air drag inside car

How about the heater blasting HI when racing? Is that a myth?

It's not that you need to heel-toe downshift going into a corner, it just makes sure you don't unsettle the car by trying to shift mid corner and that you are already in the proper gear to exit the corner before you enter it. It makes rev-match downshifting and braking into one efficient action that happens before turning. It is not more beneficial to FWD or RWD, it's beneficial to any layout.

JunyAccord why do you think you're too tall to heel-toe? Are you too big to fit in your car or something?
Putting the heater on high while racing uses the heater as an exta mini-radiator (that's what it is) to let some more of the heat in the coolant dissipate into the cabin.

it does help pull a little heat out of the motor...ive noticed that when im in a colder environment and at the higher speeds, my temp guage will drop to 25%.

listen to your tires and be the tires.
