ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

what the fuck is a transmission turbo?

his car is lighter even with the subs. your car weighs about 3000lbs. his car is considerably newer. you dont think your f22a6 is still making 140hp do you? his car was also marketed as a sporty model. the transmission is very likely geared with that in mind.

also what transmssions do you guys have? auto or manual?

A transmission turbo is just the name of the transmission. Has nothing to do with turbo. For instance, GM's Turbo Hydramatic 700R4 transmission.

He has a 2003. You have a 1992. Almost a 10 year age difference. Technology has made a lot of progress in 10 years. If you want to race you have to open up your wallet and get the stuff needed. I know you put on headers, intake, exhaust. That alone is not going to help you win races.

You had 140 crank hp 15+ years ago.
You probably have closer to 105whp now.

              1999 BMW M3
              2001 Honda CR-V SE RT4WD
              2005 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71

swap in an h23 transmission and you should be able to do a bit better. also do a full tune-up if you haven't already. but you will need to spend some money if you want to destroy him.

you should probably get new wheel bearings before you do anything else,
there are a lot of little things you can do to improve performance like an H23 intake mani, h23 transmission, bigger exhaust, etc

Do you really expect numbers from 15 years ago to stand true today? Have to factor in wear and tear on the car, lack of proper maintanance, driving style, transmission, condition of roads, and tire wear, You should owe your car 5-10 HP...

there is alot of factors to take in sir,
weight, gearing, traction, etc all mentioned above.
To top it all off driver has more to do with it then anything.

I eat them alive and i'm f22a1 with a4 headers and stage 2 clutch running 17" wheels and a big wing, i made 16.4 in 1/4 mile, so just like somebody said before, it's all about the driver

P.S. search at what rpms does the torque work on both cars and when it runs out, that might help you on the starting line, example I launch my cb7 in 2000 rpms and 2500 max and it's enough to have good start....
