ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Anyway, our cars, when brand new, made 125-140hp at the crank. Assume roughly 15-18% drivetrain loss. That's a range of 102.5hp to 119hp to the wheels. Some engines will produce more power than the factory states, some less. Some will grow stronger as they break in, some weaker. It IS possible that a very well maintained engine at 150k miles could be making near original horsepower... maybe even more. The possibility of any CB7 putting down more than 125whp EVER in bone stock form is highly unlikely, however.

So basicly it would be acurate for us A6 guys to be able to say we put down 120... maybe 125 if I/H/E

May 23 us ohio guys are having a dyno meet, so we will know for sure here soon...

140 crank hp new. Call it 15% loss for the tranny ( more if auto, as much as 20% or more depending on wear) makes it 119, figure another 10% for age, you're looking at about 107 whp stock.
You might see a buck and a quarter with IHE.

        All engines are different though.

Yeah, definitely. If your engine is as strong as your calculations figure, Jon, it may have been putting down 140whp bone stock.

Good thing your opinion doesnt matter then.

Basic bolt ons, i would assume im pushing TOPS of 100. Thats everything tweaked to perfection too.

Intake, high flow cat, stock piping down, exhaust header. Chip isnt in yet, but i would assume once i get my P06 chipped, i should be able to nail 115ish.

when I got my baseline numbers before the swap, the f22 put down 115whp, and 135ft-lbs. It had a cold air intake and cat-back exhaust, no header.

There is a difference between HP to the wheels and a HP at the crank...
