ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    New muffler = CEL?

So, my muffler fell off of my car last week.

Drove it for 150 miles without a muffler, no major problems other then loud as hell and lower gas mileage.

Got a new muffler put on Friday, drove it around town on Saturday running errands. NO PROBLEMS.

Took I took it on a day trip driving about 2 hours each way, car acted fine UNTIL I set the cruise control at 55, it hesistated and threw a "soft" CEL. CEL wasn't there anymore when I turned the car off, it did it twice while on the highway, no real problems noticed. If anything it ran BETTER, and my gas mileage went from 24-25mpg to 31mpg after new muffler. Will the cb7 throw a code if its running TOO LEAN? Another idea I had..

IDEAS? I'm stumped, maybe O2 sensor? 02 is at least 8 years old..

No codes listed, yes I've attempted to pull the codes.

It is def. throwing a code while on the highway cruising at a steady 55mph though....comes and goes. Weird.

If it comes on, it should be stored in the ECU's "memory".

When it throws a cel, keep the car on and jump the connector when you get a chance to pull over, that way it won't forget, had that happen to me also.

There's nothing that the muffler affects that should throw a CEL... or change gas mileage...

If the CEL comes on at 55mph (seems to be where it always happens), chances are you're going to get a code 43 - Fuel Supply System. As strange as it seems, it's very unlikely to be anything with the fuel system...

Replace your oxygen sensor, and your problem will be solved. Cough up the cash for an OEM Honda sensor if you don't want to do any soldering to make one of the cheaper Bosch sensors available at parts stores work properly.

sorry that im a little off topic

but i live in australia, and from my calculations that is VERY GOOD milage

i drive in mainly city type conditions, and i get around 480 km's on a full tank (300 miles)

can some1 work out how many mpg that is??

300 miles is about 20mpg. Not very good. I average about 28 with my H22 and tuned ECU.

Guess I'll wait for it to come back on...

Whats the best deal on a OEM o2 sensor? Got the EX, so I guess that means its on the downpipe..

x2. Unless you have a smaller tank, which I doubt.
I'm getting 30+mpg (rarely hwy driving) and my car is running extremely rich.

Sorry in advance for the thread jack/off topic-ness, but what part of the sensor do you solder up for the Bosch o2? I am just curious, I have never heard of this before.

are you sure your filling up all the way? i had the same problem. but i was only putting enough for my meter to read at F which apparently was 4 gallons (or something like that) too short. maybe my shit is all F'ed up but that was my problem.
