ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

How Do You Remove Power Steering?

so all this does is save the r&p? or does it help steering aswell?Originally posted by NAiL05 View PostYou can loop the two main lines together. The two pump lines you can route at the rack and the reservoir you can leave at the top. That way it stays lubricated thats how mine is routed.
is it a bad thing if it drys out?

DAMN! Alrighty thax for the info yo!Originally posted by ibr_adam09 View Posti have been running dry for a yr now and i have no problem's with my R/P
but i would recommend looping the lines just in case, i am just lazy to do it if i ever
if you leave it dry there is a chance that the R/p will get loose and make steering sloppy, meaning 120$ out of your pocket

well thats because he's either weak(which i doubt) or he just doesnt turn rightOriginally posted by d112crzy View Postand it turned out to be his worst idea ever. He couldn't turn the wheel worth a shit.
as long as you keep the car moving at least 1 or 2mph, you'll have a much easier time turning the steering wheel. and of course its gonna be harder to turn w/o power steering silly.Originally posted by d112crzy View PostI've always experience just about the opposite. It's A LOT harder to turn if you leave the lines hooked up to the pump than if you took them off.

I have done some electric car and racing modifications where I took out the AC and Power steering and sometimes the alternator. On an electric car you really have no choice but to take out all of those components.
I've disabled Power steering on a few cars and I have either totally replaced the rack and pinion with a totally mechanical one... best option I think.
But I have also kept the hydraulic one and looped the lines together to keep the fluid in there. It works fine as well... I think I have also heard of people replacing the hydrolic fluid with oil or something to keep everything lubricated in there. Check out ecomodder.com for information on removing PS and AC.
BTW I personally think that power steering makes it HARDER to steer even going slow! The only advantage I see to the power steering is that there is more "mushy" feeling between turning the wheel and how it drives.
BTW with the AC removal... You might look into finding a very small electric AC and modifying it to work under the passenger side dash... I've seen this done in an electric here in Houston but the owner uses it to cool down the car BEFORE he gets in it so the car is at least kinda cool while he take it out for a spin. Also I've seen Styrofoam boxes full of ice and a fan to keep electric cars and planes cool.AD5OS

I've also been running without PS for 4+ years and am an encourager of getting rid of PS. It is definitely not difficult driving without PS.Originally posted by woopwooph22 View Postlol ive been running without p/s for about 4 years... never noticed too much of a differecne in it being hard to turn i pull u-turns all day at 20+ lmao...just ask shadow im crazy with no p/s,no a/c, no cruise
There is something wrong with the way he(drummersteve) routed his lines. Which is why I said it was the worst idea ever when shadow1 mentioned it.
Remove the belt, remove bracket and pump, cut the lines and loop them. No need to add a reservoir and do uneccessary shit.
