Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

    Oil Problem

Hey guys, this has been going on for a while. My car was leaking oil just a little tiny bit, like there was a little drop at the drain plug. so i figured, okay, 16 year old drain plug, time for a new one. so, i bought a new one about 3 days ago, and there is still a little drop right under the drain plug. also, at the top where the pan bolts to the block, it is wet around the gasket. so what im asking is why am i still loosing a little bit of oil even with a new drain plug?

did you get a new crush washer with the drain plug? you could try applying a little sealant around the threads of the plug. just make sure it's not something permenant, maybe Hondabond?

for your other problem, the oil pan gasket might be going bad that's why theres oil around the area where the pan meets the block. you could try re-torquing those bolts to spec in that area wheres there a leak just incase they just came loose or something before replacing that oil pan gasket.

the plug came with a sort of polyurethane washer. its hard though. my old plug had a metal washer. i think im gonna replace the pan gasket soon though, any ideas on how much they run for?

hmm if i remember it was only 20 bucks from Napa for the oil pan gasket.

just make sure it's the kind that's metal but coated in some kind of rubber then get yourself a nice tube of Hondabond, sure it's 12 bucks a tube but it works great.

a Haynes manual will show you how to replace it because it'll require you to move a section of your exhaust out of the way.

yeah that's a good brand i just couldn't remember what the name was lol.

it should be a metal one because really no one makes cork gaskets anymore that i know of.

Any auto parts store. Its either a 12 or 14mm bolt I can't remember.

Yes, they do still make cork gaskets. Honda doesn't really use cork at all thats probably why you don't see much of it.

Most of the cork gaskets still being used and produced are for transmission pan gaskets. And since our cars don't have pan gaskets, thats a good reason for you to not deal with em...
