Question About What to do to my Engine???

I currently have a 93 Honda Accord Ex and in another thread I uploaded I asked about doing an engine swap for an H22A. However, most suggested that I keep the F22a that I have in my car now and just do some modifications. I looked at some online shops to see if they sold turbo parts for my car but I only saw turbo kits (i think these are the same as intercoolers right?) for newer (94+ Accords and Civics). So, will 94 civic/accord parts fit on my 93? In addition, what can I do to the engine to make it better than the H22A. I've looked at a lot of performance parts for my Accord but IDK, just seems like the only thing i could do is change the exhaust headers, cam gears, radiator, etc... BUT WHAT ABOUT THE ENGINE/BLOCK? I've looked at HondaFan81's page and followed the links on there: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=26368
But the link that involved the F22 Head made me confused: http://www.chrracingproducts.com/
It appears that his Accord is one of the fastest out there but wouldn't it be best if it was a VTEC. I need a lot of help understanding my car/engine. Does anyone know of any books that I could read b/c i'm getting a headache looking at so much online? Thanks all.

You want to get more power out you f22a I see....
Well one of the most and all of the CB7 owner here and gonna tell you "Get the bisimoto header"!! thats a good ass 27whp, you can get some camshafts from Delta, Web high performance racing cams (I currently have that on mine) a good cat back (I would go for "world sport") and just an "injen cold air intake" an h23 intake manifold with throttle body, and just reduce some weight on your car, p12 ecu is good as well, thats just the basics, read some more and do some more research, theres alot of guys out here with bulid up f22a!!!!!

Bisimoto is pulling 455whp on a fully build f22a.

    Good luck

I would prefer the H22a over the F22a6. The F22 has potential but your going to have to put more time and $ into your stock motor to out perform a stock H22.

You can build your F22 to out perform an H22 with out forced induction, mostly Bisi products. It'll end up costing more to build when you could spend less and get similar results with an H22 swap.

If your thinking about going turbo on the F22, check out MR and turbo build threads for more information. Do your research because most Turbo applications for the CB7 are custom and not built from a "kit".

Pick up a Chilton's or Haynes manual, you'll learn more about your Accord from here...

if you want something to toy with, f22 especially since you already have the block.

94 accord and civic parts won't fit.
Yesterday you said you wanted to make your accord "as powerful as possible"

How much money do you have to spend?
Do you have a 2nd car to drive around while your building your accord?
How much HP/Tq do you want, Do you want a 2000hp accord?
What sort of reliabilty do you want?

Currently I'm a senior in College and this is my only vehicle. I'm planing on going back home after I graduate and make this a summer project. So from now (when i have free time away from the books) until the summer I'm trying to learn all that I can to get the best out of my car. I'm looking to invest 5g's but I have a total of 10g's if necessary to get the best parts for the engine. I know that there are no optimal performance parts. The best parts today will be obsolete next year. With that in mind, I want to make my car the fastest out there with the current optimal parts. I want to put the best (max engine) i can with the most torque/hp I can get with the shell of my car. And I think ur joking about the 2000hp Accord lol <if that was possible that would be a site for sore eyes. As for reliability, I want it to be a daily commuter because I don't go very far when I'm in my hometown, just to work/school and then back home. Here is a link to the engine swaps I'm looking at:

Anythings possible, quad turbo V8 swap could get good numbers.

You really need to sit down and plan/research it before you decide to do anything.

Don't ever buy a "kit" if you want to go turbo. Learn what each part does, and build your own setup according to your needs.

An F22A that makes as much power as an H22A would cost about the same, honestly. That is, if you get in on the Bisimoto header group buy. With $1000, you can have a Bisimoto header, camshaft, and a simple intake and exhaust. Even untuned, those things should bring an F22A up to H22A power levels. Tuned, you'll probably make a good deal more.

If you want the H22 swap, don't order from a Canadian company like that one unless you live in Canada. If you have problems and need to take legal action to attempt to recover your $2400 (plus $200-$300 shipping), it'll be very difficult to do internationally. If you live in the US, go with www.hmotorsonline.com. Similar price, and they've been around FOREVER... with a fantastic reputation (I got mine from there back in 2003... still running very well)

Whatever you do, make a plan and focus on it before you go spending money. Determine a goal, and don't stray from the most effective path to reach that goal. It's VERY easy to waste your money on little side projects that won't help you reach your goal. Trust me... I've done just that for a very very long time!

And honestly, VTEC is cool... but it's not necessary. The VTEC system, especially in the earlier designs like the H22, causes a port design that isn't exactly ideal... which is why the F22A is capable of outflowing the H22 when modified. Don't just assume that VTEC is better... Learning what it is and what it does would be a good idea as well.

Can someone explain to me in simplistic terms what is so grand about the bisimoto deal that's going around? I've looked over the page but I'm still incompetent when it comes to understading engine mechanics. So the deal is for the Headers? But what makes the F22ax header better than these chrome headers:
                        http://www.slickcar.com/productdetai...ProductID=1228
I've googled F22ax but my browser didn't pull up anything but forums.

Bisi's header produces a 27hp gain, the ones you posted wont even be close to that gain.

Well thats crazy! I've been doing some thinking on what I would like to do to my engine and I think that I'm going to stick w/ the F22 I have now instead of doing the engine swap for the H22. I don't think I'm ready to get the Bisimoto Headers b/c they will be sitting there at my Dad's garage until I get the chance to work on them but this opportunity seems to great to pass. What do you think? Also do u accept personal messages? b/c I would like to know how you installed your intercooler and where did u get it at?

                              F22ax means F22a with an undetermined number, ie. F22a1 F22a4 F22a6, etc
You need to google with the code corresponding to your cars engine.

F22ax just means it will fit all of them, most of the cheaper headers specify just F22a or 90-93 accord
