ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Sqweak sound when turning...

This does not happen often yet, but sometimes when I make a turn I hear a squeaking sound from my steering wheel. I open my window and listen to what is going on outside my car, but it really sounds like its coming from somewhere near the steering wheel mechanism rather than from near to where the wheels of the car are. When this happens, the car will steer fine - its just the sound. It's rather loud too. Also, this only happens when turning while in motion. If I'm parked and turn the wheels, I do not hear the sound. So far there are no other associated symptoms and power steering fluid level looks ok. Any ideas?

could be the U-joint that connects to the rack? take off the steering column covers and see if there's any rusty parts in there? I would lubricate it w/ some silicone spray and see if that takes care of it.

If it is indeed a ball joint, replace it ASAP! A failed lower ball joint will most certainly make you crash.

Power steering fluid is low. Mine sounded just like that and thats what it ended up being. Make sure its full, it might look full but it isn't.

The fluid definately looks low now that I look at it again and it's a brown color. I thought it was genuine Honda power steering fluid is red... Is it? I recently had the engine replaced and now I'm wondering if they put the right fluid in. I'm going to flush and refill the fluid anyway.

I am also going to check the ball joints. Thanks for all the advice!

Mine does the same thing, but it is my tire or rim rubbing on my rubber brake line when i am turning..., mostly when i back up and turn. I just haven't re-routed it around the strut in the proper manner. Maybe this will help.

it could just be your steering rack this happened in one of our old cars, replaced that and boom sound was gone, if all else fails give it a try
