ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    speed sensor might be gone

Hello guys, just recently my car acted up on me. The speedometer stopped working, sports light on the dash blinks, and check engine light is on. None of the auto parts stores have a computer to run on my car since its too old.obd0 or 1, idk. When the light starts to blink, the transmission drops the overdrive. I have heard that it is rare for the speed sensor to go out on these cars so i ask for your help. I wouldn't want it to be something else, like a solenoid or so. 91 auto dx. thanx

Luckily, you can pull the codes yourself.

    1. Go to the passenger kick panel and pop it off.
    2. There a set of wires with a blue connector attached to them.
    3. Use a paper clip to "jump" the connector (stick each end into the prongs on the blue connector).
    4. Put your key into the ignition on (dash lights will be on) but, don't start the car.
    5. Watch the check engine light and count the flashes. It will pause between long and short flashes (The sequence will repeat once all codes are flashed).

    Long flash = 10
    Short flash = 1

You can find a list of OBD1 Honda ecu and tcu codes online.

Thanks for the advice. I am going to try that out and look up the codes somewhere online. Hope this works for me

It's not highly unlikely. To me, it seems like more 94-97 accords have that problem though -- at least that's what I've noticed when I was searching for one.

The CB7 will probably throw cell code 17 (I think) if its the speed sensor.

Another thing to check. If the cruise control works, then the problem it is not the VSS.
