ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    accident !steering not working !!!

rainy day , low tread on front tyres tried cornering at high speed , locked steering wheel all the way to the left and slid across instead and then hit a small island in the middle of the road, steering is now stuck in left like its locked in cannot turn it anyway to the right! car still works drives only around in circles! what is stopping it from turning right ?

That's a tough call to make without seeing the actual car. Any number of things could have bent, broken or gotten jammed up. You're going to have to either get under it and figure it out, or have someone with more knowledge than you have look at it and figure it out.

This is like calling your doctor and telling them "I just threw up everywhere. What's wrong with me?"

Tie rods and your steering rack. Those are really the only two things associated with your steering. You definitely damaged one or both.

safety first man , no hauling a** in the rain with crappy tires. Second , see the first .... it maybe your tie rod for sure . have you looked under the car and seen any broken parts hanging down ? you more than likely also warped the rim and for sure need a new alignment . not flaming on you man , be careful and don't speed when raining and be aware of fellow drivers. i'd kick someone in the face for hitting me in any car if they were reckless.

i agree. almost lost a good friend of mine cause he thougth it would be cool to do a burn out from the high school parking lot, slide around a blind corner, and take off.... instead he did a burn out slide around the corner almost hit a bus full of kids and took out a teleophone pole and totaled his s14.

also check your steering colum. almost sounds like the colum is locked in place like when you take the key out and turn the wheel. making a sharp turn like that and wrecking could have broken the pin and locked the colum in place.

oh yeh and I was drunk lol so all safety was out the window ! what I did was have a look underneath and took the rhf tyre off and can see the thing that holds the wheel hub on is bent on to the springs , none of the tie rods are bent will have a closer look on both sides when i get the chance and post some pics !

check your axle. could have broken on impact and jammed up keeping the tires from turning back in opposite direction. Car could still drive like this because only one axle turns /makes tractions on our cars.

I did my rack and pinion back in February and it takes some effort...took me about 6 hrs my first try. But removal of the downpipe is almost required, you won't be able to maneuver the rack out otherwise. You also have to disconnect the universal joint that connects the wheel to the rack, which takes quite a bit of contorting to reach way underneathe near the footwell.

You'll also need line wrenches (12, 14, 17mm) to get the hardlines off the rack.

But its pretty straight forward other than that. You should bleed out all the PS fluid to cut down on the mess it'll make, but I guess it'll be kinda difficult since you can't turn the wheel lock to lock.

Search for the DIY on here, I used it and it helps.

Junkyards ?Over here in aus they're called "Wreckers" full of wrecked 92 accords ( which is a good thing or bad thing ?) one wreckers here is specialised in honda's! Thanks for the help so far I will probably take the whole steering assembly from the wreckers myself so I learn how to remove it from the car as well as the Lower control arm , and tie rod ! I hate doing any old exhaust bolts Im pretty sure they are rusted and my tools arent top of the range so maybe instead , first is it possible to replace the drivers side (RHD) steering rack tie rod and end without removing the whole steering rack! If my theory is right the steering shaft is connected to the rack , connected to a tie rod and then tie rod end then connected to wheel spindle
