ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

Throttle response and mpg will most likely suffer with a gutted double stack. Not much, but some.
Triple stack... you're looking at extended coolant lines, a modified throttle cable, and probably a modified hood. There's also surely a point of deminishing returns. Just because 2 is good doesn't mean 3 is better!

well thats why i asked, so my best bet is to just do the twinn stack mod and repalce my butterfliy vacume valve it seems to be dirty when operated by hand, it does not have smooth operation threw its range like it used to, about half way it gets gummie and has alot of resistance . about the tripple stack see this is were chevys differ from hondas lol , if i put a 3" spacer under my carb on the chevy, i will see more gains than losses in most cases, w/ non stock cam and intake but here the same does not apply! thanks deev once again for dropping some knowledge on me lol

You MAY see gains from a triple stack, but due to the other issues I mentioned, nobody has ever done it (that I'm aware of.)

Definitely clean your IAB, and all should be fine. You should also have it wired to the ECU, not just controlled by vacuum.

again more info i did not know the IAB was wired in to the ecu its all factory right now I have not changed anything yet i had read a thread on how members wer getting more power out of the other a# models i already have a f22a6 in my car! figured the double stack could not hurt . should i use brake cleaner or engine degreeser to clean the IAB also the inside of my throttle bodie and intake manifold has a black wet residue in it ive cleaned it twice what gives isnt it suposed to stay dry in there being that it is pre injectors this was my main reason for wanting to take the I.M. apart to clean it paint it and see if it could be ported also port matching the intake side of the head while it was apart ?

no its still controled by vacume..just to a certain point..the plug is underneath the intake manifold on a black box that has vacume lines and presser.once the car hits 4k or so in rpm it opens that box thus allowing the vacume presser go to the iab and open.so yes its controled by vacume just not directly connected to a constint vacume source like i have.they open when ever at WOT which when spring comes will be alot...

Yes, they will still open with "vacume presser" (please use a browser that checks your spelling... it's almost impossible to understand what you're talking about...) but it will not work as it was designed to. For the best results, do it right.

Also, please resize your sig, or I will remove it.

The residue it mostly likely oil, not fuel. There are two lines off the valve cover that allow air/oil mist from the crankcase into the intake, one ahead of the throttle body, the other behind (through PCV). How many miles on your engine? Excess blowby could be pushing a lot of crankcase air into the intake.

ooooooo k!! and yes i agree do it right.but theres still nothing wrong with straight vaccum pressure hook up..in my opinion.

                  hows that?

223k and climbing daily lol if i put a small breather filter on the valve cover will that eliminate that and is it possible to get blowby in the hvac if im sitting still and rev up i get smoke coming outta my dash vents what causes this ?

do you have your heater fan running when you're getting that smoke inside? maybe try turning your hvac air to re-circ instead of fresh. my oil pres sens. leaks, and i get the same problem when i come off the higway to a stop light. more so if the outside air is activated.

I have seen a dyno sheet before regarding the use of the butterfly's and it really didn't hurt much of anything. The IABs on my F22 are hooked to vacuum and I one day I tried disconnecting the vaccum line to see if they would help the low end but I didn't notice a difference. Plus I have a chipped and tuned p28 so I can't run them anyway.
