ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    H23a1 build

Hey guys I have a H23a1 in my accord and trying to either make the block vtec or turbo. I want to do which ever is more reliable. Right now money isn't the issue so if both are possible that would be even better. My thoughts for the h23 is to bolt on the h22 vtec head and whatever supporting mods I need. Either way I will probably be turboing the car within the year. Hoping for some good opinions... thanks

I think if your looking for reliability you should keep it "AS IS"

Keep it how you got it, until you know the ropes.

Excellent decision that could save you major headaches and setbacks.Use this sites search bar to look up turbo setups or look in the forced induction forums.Research is a must if your gonna go turbo. You can stay all motor too and be very happy as well.

Ok so I'm a little more ready now. I'm ditching the entire thought of the h22 head. No point since the h23 head makes a bettre lower end.

I am going for a turbo setup now. Things I am looking to get.

Hey what do you think about this?
Garret GT3076R BB turbo .63 AR(Might go with smaller turbo)
            Upgrade to 255 walbro lph
            upgrade to 550cc or 600cc injectors?(currently at 440?)
            ecu chipped ??? (p06) Hondata
...Then a turbonetics intercooler. Do I have an intercooler already? Maybe i'm confused with the radiator?
            Boost controller(Greddy)
            SAFC(Apexi)
            Turbo Timer(Greddy)
Need to change up head for turbo?
            ARP head studs
            BISI head gasket?
Maybe save up for new clutch.

If I'm missing anything please let me know. Suggestions are welcome too.
Information on my car will be on this post. I bought the car from F22B.

In my opinion I think you need some more time!

I think your a bit confused. That is ether a radiator or A/C condenser not an inner cooler. Unless someone boosted the car before you bought it. Did you buy the 440cc injectors or do you still have the stock 240cc H23 injectors? No need for SAFC if you are using a chipped and tuned ECU. The stock H23 head will work just fine for boost.

If money is not an option. My suggestion would be for you call up a few shops and get quotes on building a proper boost setup for your car. Better to have someone who knows what they are doing build it right the first time.

h23 OEM crank has issues when lots of power is applied.
It is not slotted for balance, nor ready for high horsepower.
So if you want your car reliable keep it as is.
Or build that bottom end to keep you going.
Your going to run into issues whenever you add performance.
x2 on what Ghost said about SAFC and ECU Tuning.

You def got about a year left of research before doing either option.

Ya looks like I have a ways to go turbo. All motor is my goal now. Collecting turbo parts probably wont be bad though. I also asked my friend about it and ya I have lotssss to learn about my car still. Gahhh I hate waiting

Ya it was just the radiator.... and I believe it has the 440cc injectors. Probably gunna wait on the turbo though.
