ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Spark Plug tube oil affecting O2?

Spark Plug tube oil affecting O2?

Within the next week, I plan to do my spark plug seals.
My worry is that the accumulated oil (there's a lot of it) will fall into the cylinders. Then, when I fire up my engine, the oil will burn and foul my 02 sensor. Last I checked the oil was up to the white part of the spark plug.
Is this something I should be worried about? And if so, how would you suggest removing the oil?

have you read the threads about changing your lower tube seals and the part about how to get the oil out?

(i searched earlier today for changing the lower tube seals and it answers the part about removing the oil NOT the part about it ruining the O2 part)

EDIT: I hate being an ass. (sorry about that)

I've read you can use brake cleaner, providing the engine is stone cold.

    An air compressor also works.

Clean it before the valve cover comes off (I assume)

(I have NO personal experience with this)

See....if you had been a man, and went out and did this when you first noticed the leak, you would not have to even ask this question.

Shove the edge of a paper towel in each tube and let it soak the oil up?

I know how, and I added the videos to the stickies. He just doesn't mention what to do with the oil. Your ideas are helpful.

            This doesn't make any sense.

            I'll probably try that first.

it will be fine man . it will smoke a little but will clear up quickly . if you have access to a air compressor you can take the spark plug wires off and use a air nozzle and blow the oil out . cover the hole with a old rag and insert wand into the hole and blow it up .

A man that keeps looking back can't see whats in front of him.

You made a thread not to long ago asking if it would be ok to wait until spring to fix your leaks and gaps and shiz.

Should have went outside, like everyone else, and fix it right away.

Your now claiming oil is so deep, that half the plugs are soaked?!?!

That tells me its been a problem for quite some time.

Well, I only found out about it in (I think) January. It's kinda cold in January. And from what I could see, the oil then is about what it is now. It's also a little bit warmer now, actually next week it's going to be 50 degrees warmer. It'll get done then.

I actually plan on doing this myself tomorrow, along with a valve adjustment among other things... I didn't think about this part but I wouldn't worry about it
