ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Car just WILL NOT start

I don't even know where to begin to try diagnosing the problem. It's certainly got gas, and the battery is fine because whenever I turn the key it chirps, but the engine just won't turn over. Any other obvious things I'm missing to check? Or perhaps the problem is bigger than I think..

    Any CELs?
You've got to give us at least something to work with...
    MRT
37.5 MPG, AC on, cruising at 80.
30.0 MPG, AC on, aggressively driving around 90.
27.5 MPG, no AC, cruising at 90 with occasional gridlock. 40 degrees Fahrenheit

Lots of DIY videos specifically for our car

Get some awesome wipers! <-- It's a DIY

True..well, no CEL's. When I stick the key in and try to start it, all it does is repeatedly chirp until I bring the key back to the on position. It makes it seem like the engine isn't even responding or attempting to start. I've tried doing a running start and that didn't prove either. I've tried jumping and neither did that..lol

Chirping is the chimes you hear when the key is in?

Yeah, there are so many ways to describe it, lol.
The quick couple times you hear it "chirp" before the engine comes to life. That sound.

Oh, it doesn't, I was just trying to describe the sound I would hear when trying to start the car. I just hear the chirp repeatedly, car never starts.

                  Is the engine getting fuel?
                  Is the engine getting spark?
                  Is the engine getting air?

It needs all of those 3 things to run. It will run if it has them, and it will not if one is missing. Determine which is missing, and it will make it MUCH easier to figure out what is wrong.

In the meantime, clean and tighten all battery and ground connections.

I'm pretty sure it's getting spark, and certain it's getting fuel. But air may be the issue. Is there any possible way to make sure that each of these, individually, are working?

im trying to find that sticky post for him where its explained the procedure to check for air, spark, fuel. Do you know where it is??

                      Edit:

                      There it is. http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showpost...05&postcount=1

Take the spark plug out, connect it to the wire and ground the metal part. Have a friend crank the engine and watch for spark.
The other ones, I'm not 100% on my methods.

Spark and fuel are more likely. If you're sure it's getting spark, the spark may not be strong enough (a weak battery connection, be it loose or dirty, could be enough to turn the engine, but not start it... I've had that happen personally.) Are you POSITIVE it has fuel?
It's highly unlikely that the engine isn't getting air, unless the throttle plate somehow isn't opening.

You guys are a great help.
I'm gonna take the thread and try a few of these things.
Hopefully I can get back to you shortly with a positive update.
                            Really appreciate it!

If you can determine what the engine isn't getting, it'll most certainly make it easier to figure out the problem!
