The only grounds that I'm positive are right, are the battery and the thermo housing ground. But tha could be another issue, because my high beams work, but my headlights don't. Doesn't make any sense to me.

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

im not sure whats happening but you want to make sure that the small wire is getting voltage while you crank.Originally posted by CB7freak92 View PostI'll try this. Dumb question, how could I check the voltage? You think maybe my wire harness is maybe grounding out somewhere?
if not, there's a lot of factors like a park neutral switch, alarm, ecu, ignition switch, fuses...
black on clean engine ground/batt negative
red on the tip of the small wire @ starter

Here's a few things:
- Try your original ecu.
- Compare your wiring to this thread: Auto to 5 speed swap wiring questions!
- On your engine harness to chassis harness connectors, Make sure they are connected tightly and correctly. (Happened to me once)

Ok which wire did u touch it to ...thick one should be constant and thin one should be ignition...check ur fuse box for any blown fuses...does the motor spin freely...the might be something binding up insideOriginally posted by CB7freak92 View Postokay. today, my friend and i tried bypassing that small cable that comes from the wire harness to the starter. took a large gauge wire, touched it to the starter, and still nothing. just a click coming from the area where the fuse box is.

We touched the small wire frm the ignition, not the direct current. Fuses are all good. You guys were talking about possiblybad grounds. How many grounds are there total? What exactly needs to be grounded and where. I tried using the haines manual, but all that did was confuse the shit out of me. I'm gonna buy some copper wire today and hopefully figure it al out. But any help from you guys is greatly apreciated. I need this car back on the road. I can't keep forkin out gas money for rides to work. Lol.Originally posted by Jswappedsedan View PostOk which wire did u touch it to ...thick one should be constant and thin one should be ignition...check ur fuse box for any blown fuses...does the motor spin freely...the might be something binding up inside
Also, I did paint the engine bay...would that have any effect on the ground wires? Should I maybe sand down the spots that need to be grounded?

definitely sand down the areas to be grounded. They need to make good contact otherwise the grounds are useless. But it sounds like you might have blown a fuse if you hear a clicking from the fusebox.Originally posted by CB7freak92 View PostWe touched the small wire frm the ignition, not the direct current. I had to add a shit load of grounds since I relocated my battery to the trunk. About 3 or 4 back there and then another 3 or 4 in the front in addition to the F22's standard grounds.
