ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Fuel Leak

I was changing my fuel filter and when I went to tighten the fuel line back onto the filter, the 14mm nut got stripped. So now I have a small fuel leak because the nut isn't tight enough. I've tried tightening it as much as possible with vice grips, but it's still leaking a small amount. Am I going to have to replace the whole fuel line in order to make it stop leaking? I'm assuming it goes from the fuel filter back to the tank.

why didnt you use a 14mm line wrench? This is what happens when you use an open ended wrench. I would go buy a line wrench and see if it will still grab, it looks like it would.

Well for one it looks like the line was bent because you put it in crooked

Why the hell did you keep tightening it if it was already stripping?

There isn't even a seal on that line. Its a flared fitting it doesn't need a seal.

I bought mine and it had 2 brass washers/seals, one for each port.

The washers are for top and bottom of the banjo fitting, not one for each fitting. If you put one on the supply fitting, that is probably why it is leaking - it won't allow the flared portion of the fitting to seat in the filter. As someone said, get a line wrench (it is like a box end wrench with a slot to allow it to go over the tube), remove the washer, then tighten carefully.

The line is indeed one piece all the way to the tank and a trermendous pain in the neck to replace (I did it in the middle of winter in the driveway).

I was gonna say. Just get new washers for the banjo bolt. I'm sure your old ones are probably crushed to it's limit and now it's not as tight as it use to be which is causing it to leak.

I bought a set of line wrenches and that didn't work for me. The wrench would just slide on the nut when I tried to tighten it. I really don't want to have to replace the whole entire fuel line. I'm assuming its a huge pita. Are there any ways I can fix this without replacing the whole line? I was thinking maybe cutting the line right before the filter and going to the junkyard to get the same fitting that goes in the fuel filter off of an accord, and then joining them both with a hose.

I feel pretty stupid for stripping the nut and having to redo all of this. This is literally the only thing thats keeping me from finishing my h22a swap. I have everything assembled.

A friend of my dad (mechanic) did the same for me. Only the portion of line was near the fuel tank. It was rusted and cracked when we removed the tank. This was long time ago and that car is RIP.

Try using a 13mm and lightly sand the edges of the nut till its a tight fit, probably your only option besides replacing the line.
