ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Both will cause wear, but toe is what will eat your tires the fastest.

If you need to drive for work, and you need to drive this car, then I suggest you borrow money from someone to do what needs to be done. This is your life at stake here. Or someone else's... If you lose control due to worn or blown tires, you could be seriously hurt, seriously hurt someone else, or do some VERY expensive damage to your property, as well as someone else's. Not to mention your insurance will go through the roof, and you may even get tickets.

New tires and a proper alignment aren't cheap... but they're a hell of a lot cheaper than the alternative.

Blown shocks are scary. Especially when you see a car bouncing towards you and can hear the tires screech every time they hit the ground.

I remember seeing some young girl driving on the highway in an E30 that had blown rear shocks. It was terrifying watching her rear wheels literally leave the ground every time she hit an expansion joint. The girl seemed to have no clue that there was anything wrong with her car. If she needed to slam on the brakes, that rear would swing around so fast...

My friend has an E30 with blown shocks all around. He blew them right before I met him, 3 years ago.

I refuse to ride in his car, and he refuses to go on the highway. I guess that's good.
When I drive behind him at night, I can see sparks. I thought at first maybe he was ashing his cigarette.
Turned out it's his muffler and everything else that's low to the ground.

Funny thing is is he has the shocks. He's just too lazy to put them in

Well my car isn't very bouncy. I don't think. Maybe that's why they cut the springs;/

                  ^ what he said
drive in the rain and hit a pothole the wrong way and bumpsteer will throw that backend around.
and your cut springs isnt holding up the body as well as stock so its probably putting more force on the tires thus your extreme tire wear

Park the car and fix it before you wreck the car, kill yourself / endanger other people please.

Also don't even think of buying ebay coilovers, kyb struts, etc... get yourself a nice set of Koni SRT.T's and some springs with a 1.5" drop if you want to be cheap. Get an alignment, and get some new tires.
There's ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with KYB struts/shocks. I've got over 90k on my KYB AGXs lowered 2.5" and they function as they should, all dampening level adjustments work and the ride is great. I also have a set of GR2s on my daily and they're excellent stock replacement shocks. Stop spreading this bad information.

but to the OP, get stock springs and shocks until you can afford to lower your car. Its not worth it man, go look at your local JYs or even on Craigslist for people parting out accords, you should be able to find them for cheap. You might get lucky and the shocks might even still have some life left.

Sorry for "spreading bad information", what I have read is the kyb doesn't make anything designed for drops more then 1.5" inches, and if you do drop it more then that the struts die quickly (on numerious accounts), but all cases are not the same; all I suggest is the op do his research on proper suspension, and that I never said/meant that there was anything wrong with their struts for stock application/replacement, if the op is willing to cut his springs, whats not to say hes going to drop it more then what the struts are rated, thats why I made that statement, but as per your request I won't say another word on the subject.

I'm curious as to how much the op cut their springs now.

I know deevergote and I have had a disagreement with camber kits, but I still stand that you do not need them. Are they helpful, yes, but are don't agree that they are 100% necessary.

I'm not sure if the misconception here on cb7tuner is that a camber kit will resolve the issues of tire wear, granted tire wear can be attributed to numerous issues, but for this sake let's just say it is the culprit. Yes, you can get your vehicle to stock camber specs, but if the toe is not correct and set to 0, you will still eat through tires. Anyways, to make a long story short, when you get an alignment they also correct your toe in addition to your camber which is the biggest culprit I believe to resolving tire wear.

Back to the issue at hand, I would start from the absolute very beginning. Get OEM springs and struts, immediately get an alignment, and then as time goes on, read up a bit, educate yourself on suspension, and at the same time check for other suspension components to determine if they are going out.

As I've said multiple times, I'm significantly lowered, with no camber kit, with at least -3 camber, and my tires have lasted a very long time. I've taken very good care of them; rotated them religiously, checked tire pressure, etc. People can take it for what it's worth, but I am speaking from experience.
