ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

    Spark Plug Wires?

I just put in new e3 spark plugs and am wondering what a good set of performance spark plug wires are good to go with, also what is the price?

Take them out and replace them with NGK or DENSO.

As for wires, I'd recommend NGK, DENSO, or oem.

I've been considering Bosch or Duralast through autozone. They have a lifetime warranty, so I could take them back whenever. I'm not sure of their quality though.

E3 plugs are shit. Waste of money.

For wires, NGK "blues" are always good. The best, according to what I've read, are Sumitomo wires straight from Honda.

Just got a set of the NGK wires and they are great. Will cost you in the 50's range from Advanced Auto. Not sure the exact price but should be closer to 60 after tax.

Online may be cheaper, but you have to be careful to get authentic parts. It's not all that hard to print NGK on a $2 set of cheapie Chinese wires...

              The logic I'm following:
If they're still in good shape, keep them.

Good shape: Rubber is in good shape
              Grabs the spark plug well
Doesn't spark or glow when it's dark out and I check them

Sumitomo was shown in a Honda-Tech test to be the best of all the commonly available brands. 20 year old OEM wires may not be great, but as long as they pass the tests Geoff mentioned, they're probably still better than cheapies. If you want the best you can get, get new Sumitomos.

Don't be suckered in by trendy brands. Hell, even MSD wires aren't as good, and they're praised as one of the best ignition companies around!

HOWEVER... you will probably never notice the difference in wires, as long as you don't get complete crap.

If they're OEM Sumitomo wires, the year of manufacture will be printed in yellow somewhere along the length of the wire.

I have always used MSD and are arguably the best IMO

That's good to know. I've always just gotten the Beck Arnley brand wires and i don't trust Bosch.

Bosch is probably fine for wires. Their plugs often don't give satisfactory results, and their o2 sensors suck for our cars.

Haven't used MSD wires on a Honda but on V8's they aren't worth the money. Lots better options with domestic v8's though.

On my honda i used Napa's premium wires. They are great on the engine side. Feel great... the distributor end left some to be desired. They snap on good but the rubber boots are working their way off.

I agree with dev and Bosch. Mine experience with Bosch plugs isn't so good. They aren't enough effective. I changed them for less than 2000km and put NGK.
With wires I don't know. Only using NGK.

I would have to say similar to Geoff stated. If yours are in good shape and your engine is firing correctly, you should be fine. If your engine is stock or close to stock, your only wasting your money if your buying a expensive aftermarket wire. I mean it is a wire if you stop and think about it. As long as its a quality brand NGK or something as stated above you should be fine.
