ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Random flashing d4 lights

    Heres what happens

If i start up my car and drive it for 5-15 minutes and then shut it off and turn it back on my d4 light will be flashing

Basically i drove home from work and stopped for gas. I turned the car off and then flipped the key back to run to listen to music while the fuel pumped. The d4 light started blinking

Today i drove it it to mcdonalds about 10 minutes away and parked to eat my food and it did it again

if i let the car sit for 5-10 minutes it goes away

    it gives me goes 1, 2, 7, and 8

When the light is flashing my car will only start out in 2nd gear if manually put into 2. If its put in d3 or d4 it will start out in 4th gear from a dead stop ( slow as balls ). If i put it into 1 it still starts out in 2nd

Anyways what do you think the problem is?

That makes me think that its your tcu. Mine did that when I first got it.. though I'm not sire about the d4 light because the bulb doesn't work.. had the tcu rebuilt and good as new.

Sounds like that's the second tcu you have had that's died/dieing. You should already know your options.

With you posting your TCU fix thread everywhere, I think I'm going to try what you're suggesting.
I have the exact same problem as above, except mine just recently started slipping.

Guys, when those capacitors or even solder points are getting old, you are not always going to see the obvious. Just like my brake lamp indicator. I took the black little box out from the rear tail light, solder it and it seems to fix that problem. I am going to do the TCU fix next week and be looking at the ECU as well.

Here's what my car was doing when I first got it.. It would start in second, skip D3 and go straight to D4 after a couple tries... turn it off and it'd start in 1 and go to D3....

Had the TCU sent off and all capacitors and solder points replaced for only 60 bucks...
