ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

car starting problems in hot temperatures

Whats up guys? So I've My cb for a year and I noticed that every time it starts getting hot outside the car has problems starting it never has problems starting during cold temperatures only when its hot. Does anybody know why it might do that?

That is a very common symptom to a main relay thats failed/failing. You can either source another one from somewhere, or you can refurbish it by resoldering each point on the board inside the main relay casing. Its located under the driver side dash, if you have cruise control, you will have to remove the "brain" first as it blocks direct access to the relay.

Thank you I appreciate your help. I will look into that ASAP. I always thought it was My fuel going out or the fuel filter.

Also a sign off the ignitor going bad.

The ignitor would usually cause the tach to freak out before it quits completely.

The main relay controls the fuel pump, so it IS a fuel thing... but a lot of people end up replacing their fuel pump unnecessarily when the relay starts to fail.
If your fuel filter is old, I'd replace that anyway. it's cheap, and it should be done.

If you have any ability to solder electronics, you can look into repairing the main relay. It's a little bit of work, but it'll save you $60 or so.
Or do what I do, and snag a few relays from the junkyard. One of them is bound to work for a short time, at least! (not the best option, but a temporary fix if you're low on cash.)

Im probably just going to get a new main relay so it can be a problem less on My car.

Save yourself some money, even if you don't know how to solder you can learn really easy. YouTube was created for a reason.

Yeah, even if you screw up the soldering, you'll still have a busted main relay... no different than you have now! Try the fix. If you fail, THEN spend the money on a new one.
