ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    lowering springs

    I'm a noob.
I need the help of this forums members.
my question is what springs or coilovers can be used on a 91 4 door.
are civic springs able to be used on them or coils that are meant to be used on crx's or older model civics also able to be used on accords.

I'm using my phone to post and its a really old phone and i can't research on it because it lookes to shut off randomly and freeze up.
Thanks for the future knowledge i will learn here.

90-97 accords use the same ones as well. Those are the only ones you should use that are made for your car. And dont get ebay suspension parts or skunk2. Good luck.

DO NOT use suspension parts made for any other car.
When you lower your car, you will need to install new shocks that are properly matched to your springs, or it will be very dangerous.

Get a good phone, or a computer with internet access. We're glad to help, but we won't spoon feed you everything you want to know just because you're too lazy to use this forum properly.

Skunk2's suspension parts for the Accord are absolute garbage. Their spring/shock combo isn't even properly matched, and the shocks blow out quickly. The spring rate of their lowering springs is extremely high, making for a terribly harsh ride for a street car. My friend had a set that made lots of noise on his car. A rattling sound that went away when the springs were replaced with H&R Race springs (everything else stayed the same.)

Skunk2 may know Civics and Integras, but they don't know a damn thing about Accords.

Good to know. I was confused because my race car was almost entirely Skunk2 and it was an awesome setup.

              Thanks for the info.

Was your race car a Civic or Integra?

The only Skunk2 products I'd even consider on my car would be camshafts for my H22A, since their camshafts seem to be great. Then again, people use H22As in Civics and Integras!

I don't know how you do it Deev. I think I've seen help people with these sticky questions 50+ times over the past four years. You have a lot of patience.

                    Sometimes it wears thin...

I'm far more patient when people clearly want to learn, and they've actually made an attempt to learn on their own. I'm not a fan of spoon-feeding the lazy, or trying to communicate clearly with the people who don't know how to type like an adult.

I was a total noob myself once, and there are still things I don't know at all... so I know what it's like.

Yes, it was a Civic. I noticed they didn't make much for the Accord, but I just thought that was a popularity thing and didn't necessarily equate to quality. It's good to know though.

Yeah, from what I can tell, anything they make that isn't used specifically in a car they've actually built for their own purposes might as well be "ebay" crap. Skunk2 was, afterall, just a small "ebay" company in their early days anyway. It degrades the brand's respectability in my eyes to see that they'd be so willing to release such inferior parts just to make a profit. It's insulting to people who DO seriously want to modify a less popular car, because we'd trust them based on their reputation, and pay a high price for poorly made parts.

That's a trip that skunk2's suspension parts aren't good for our cars. I've been running their shocks with some Tein springs for 2 years now no problems. Hopefully it stays this way .

Their shocks have been described as being on-par with inexpensive aftermarket shocks that are basically stock replacement... They're regarded as being a step below KYB GR2 or Tokico HP. Neither of which are good for anything but a very mild drop.
Restless, are you running Tein S Tech springs? I believe they have a pretty soft spring rate, which might be why you haven't blown a Skunk2 shock yet.

Had to check out the KYB GR2 and Tokico HP shocks right now, but I'm running the Tein H. Tech springs cause sometimes I'll have 4-5 people in my car so didn't want the car to sit to low. I'm kind of confused on how the KYB GR2 and Tokico HP shocks are better than skunk2's since they seem to be cheaper than skunk2's. Almost seems like you're saying we'd be paying just for the name for skunk2 rather than the KYB GR2 and Tokico HP which are better designed for our cars?
