ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    b1 v-tec problem

Ok so I attempted wiring vtec yesterday and it didn't turn out quite like I'd hoped.. I have swapped to a 96' f22b1, running a1 injectors and distributer with my original 91 ecu and she runs just fine w/o vtec.. no CEL.... then I go switch a6 & a11 pins, vtec-a4, vtec pressure switch -d6 and 94' POA ecu... starts but runs like shit, erratic idle and CEL.. took it for a spin and there's a nasty jerk around 4k. Even earlier(3k) if I lean on the pedal.. IM STUMPED!

What codes are you getting (CEL) That would be as good a place as any to start. You can use the same paperclip SCS short method to retrieve the codes as your regular ECU.

Sounds like your having VTEC issues. It kicks in anywhere between 2300-3200 rpm if the actuation conditions are met and the ECU sends the signal to the solenoid. Check all of your ECU pins and make sure they are in good and tight.

If it runs fine with the PT3, and poorly with the P0A, then the issue definitely seems to be in your VTEC wiring. Check for exposed wires, bad splices or solder points, etc... Make SURE all your wiring is correct (take pictures if you're not sure, and someone will certainly be able to help.)

The PT3 isn't looking for the circuits involved in the VTEC system, so that being the only real variable in this situation, that's probably where the problem is.
The other potential problem is that your P0A is shot. Do you have access to another?

just outta curiosity are your plug wires oriented correctly? i ask this because it all depends on which distributor your using as well it may be correct wire orientation for the non vtec ecu and diff for the b1 ecu

If it runs fine on one ECU, I'd assume that they are.

You can also try running the POA without the VTEC wiring to see if that is the issue. You should get codes for the VTEC pressure switch and the solenoid.

If it runs fine without the vtec wiring, go from there.

well it depends at times, ive been there before but like i said i need to know which distributor he is utilizing, ive had it where i was using the oem b2 internals with a diff housing and pickup shaft. loads of diff pitches which can orient cyl 1 differently which can be correct firing order for some ecu's but not others. kinda hard to explain, been extra tired and mindfudged just lost a cousin. anyway post up your setup plz

K so I wired it back up again.. checked everything over and used a paperclip to check my CEL and its giving me code 22.? Two slow blinks followed by two fast blinks....

vtec pressure valve. That would certainly result in a lack of vtec.
