Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Check your wiring to the solenoids. Then try a different TCU. Either grab one from ebay or a junk yard, or find someone local that will let you borrow theirs. If a new ECU gives you the same codes, then the solenoids are bad.Originally posted by danbpt View PostI have a code for a transmission speed pulse generator or counter shaft how would I repair this I been on google and looking though the threads. i used the search provided by the web site and found a bunch of stuff on this topic or simlier.
thats where i found this to use as a example .
if you read the "sticky" threads in the technical section, all the info regarding both ECU and TCU codes are well documented.Last edited by Accord problems; 06-01-2012, 06:23 PM.this was put together by evil_demon_01 . I have a 92 accord. I was on the highway doing about 65-70 and the car randomly shifted into 3rd gear and the RPM's shot way up. I got it back into fourth the car ran fine. I went to ge tin my car today and put it into D4 and the car doesnt move.. Put it into D3 nothing.... Samething all the way down the line D2 and D1. someitmes if i put it into D1 i can ge *** going but if i hit the gas to much it will just rev up... What could the problem be? the car has bee shifting very hard for about 5 year before this.

It is either your Vehicle Speed Sensor (easy to change) or your Automatic Transmission Computer (capacitors burn out on these boards, there is a fix for this too, the picture is at the bottom of this page). You need to diagnose by removing the lower right plastic kick panel on the passenger side. There you will find a blue plug. With the car OFF stick a paper clip, wire or stuff the plug with foil to make electrical connection so that the two terminals are touching. Then, turn the ignition to ON (not enough to start it though, just power it up). When you do this, count the blinks in the "D Light" or count your blinking Check Engine Light. Both are different but can refer to different things wrong with your car. A long blink is the first number and the short blinks that follow are the second number.
So imagine this as being 14 : ___ _ _ _ _
Below is a decoding chart:
The first section will be the check engine light codes, the next one is the Transmission Control Unit Codes read from the D Light;
1 O2A - Oxygen sensor #1
2 O2B - Oxygen sensor #2
3 MAP - manifold absolute pressure sensor
4 CKP - crank position sensor
5 MAP - manifold absolute pressure sensor
6 ECT - water temperature sensor
7 TPS - throttle position sensor
8 TDC - top dead centre sensor
9 CYP - cylinder sensor
10 IAT - intake air temperature sensor
12 EGR - exhaust gas recirculation lift valve
13 BARO - atmospheric pressure sensor
14 IAC (EACV) - idle air control valve
15 Ignition output signal
16 Fuel injectors
17 VSS - speed sensor
19 Automatic transmission lockup control valve
20 Electrical load detector
21 VTEC spool solenoid valve
22 VTEC pressure valve
23 Knock sensor
30 Automatic transmission A signal
31 Automatic transmission B signal
36 traction control found on JDM ecu's
41 Primary oxygen sensor heater
43 Fuel supply system
45 Fuel system too rich or lean
48 LAF - lean air fuel sensor
54 CKF - crank fluctuation sensor
58 TDC sensor #2
61 Primary oxygen sensor
63 Secondary oxygen sensor
65 Secondary oxygen sensor heater
71 random misfire cylinder 1
72 random misfire cylinder 2
73 random misfire cylinder 3
74 random misfire cylinder 4
80 Exhaust Gas Recirculation insufficient flow detected
86 ECT Sensor (Engine Coolant Temperature) circuit range / performance problem
90 Evaporative Emission Control System leak detected in the fuel tank area
91 Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor low input
92 Evaporative Emission Control System insufficient purge flow

Thats not true, I have a 92 ex tcu in my 91 lx. The 92/93's tcu programming is a comprimise between the sport and regular/overdrive modes found on 90/91's. The sport button doesn't work anymore with the 92/93 tcu, and while in d4, the sport light will stay on all the time, but if you shift down to d3, or any other gear I think for that matter, the sport light will turn off.Originally posted by Accord problems View Postya that can be butt also does the year of the tcu and the year of the tranny match . the hafto be the same year.
And to the OP, you should really check the condition of the connections point where you "spliced" a new connector for a different speed sensor. Or try the old sensor, since you said you still have it.Last edited by cloudasc; 06-02-2012, 02:16 AM.
