ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    suspension front passenger

i did a brake pad change on my front brakes, MY car started bouncing alot when i was done it didn't use to do that. i picked my car with a floor jack and put floor stands on both sides so i could finish fast. i have stock suspension and i maked sure the wheels where properly installed. i do have bad axles but i don't think that's the problem. i really don't know what's wrong. Also when i took off the stands the passenger side front was really low i think maybe the shocks were bad and as i raised it it probably messed it up. anybody know what might be the problem.

Sounds like the " Bouncing alot " is from blown out shock/strut on the front . Did you release the floor jack really fast ? If so, it may have blown it completely out . If I were you I would replace the front shocks a.s.a.p. to prevent wrecking

A man that keeps looking back can't see whats in front of him.

is it bouncing when hitting the brakes? you may have warped your rotors or damaged your suspension by not going by the book and lifting/dropping the vehicle properly or torquing the bolts correctly. *WARNING NOT A SAFE RECOMMENDATION FOLLOWING* with the car well supported on jack stands or blocks (not a jack) in the front and wheel chocks on the back what do the wheels do when you put it in drive? Also your "bad axels" could be causing binding... just saying don't rule them out.

Rotors do not get warped by lifting cars on jacks. Warped rotors will make car vibrate as brake is applied. Warped rotors will not make cars to bounce.

Sure it can, I have seen it on many makes and models of vehicles. And he could have warped them by installing improperly, not lifting the car.

          Examples:

All he did was changing pads. How much force does he need to apply against the rotors in order to warp them? On my LX, I had a hydraulic jack under the rotor and dust plate supporting weight while I had to re-position the jack stand. That rotor didn't get warped. The loading was vertical not horizontal but it shows how strong the rotor is.

Change words to "vibrate" from "bounce" on those questions/links and I will believe them. Based on my personal experiences, I never had bouncy car due to warped brake rotor(s) .

The car is on 20 year old shocks. It's reasonable to assume that they are blown. The fact that it became noticeable after the car was jacked up for a brake job is pretty irrelevant. The only effect the raising of the car could have is to allow the shock to extend further than it had while the car was sitting on the ground. What little pressure may have remained in the shock may have been lost by that extra stretch.

Bottom line, replace your shocks. Replace your axles. Replace any other worn suspension component you come across.

Thanks guys that helped a lot. I checked it out and it was the strut I need to replace it. I bought the two front ones and the two front axles my car should feel really good now n thanks for the tips I learned something.

Sounds like blown shocks but also if the passenger side is sitting lower then you might have a broke spring. I would do a complete suspension look over... just my 2cents
