ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Auto transmission question

Recently I have Ben noticing my transmission is acting weird
About 1/4 throttle I get through the gears with a dip between gears I don't know if this is normal for aged auto
I'm afraid it's more or less the torq converter
Or my rear motor mount since my engine apparently moves to much

Engine mounts should be replaced regardless of the other symptoms that they cause. They are in place for a reason.

When was the last time the transmission fluid was flushed?

Have you checked fluid levels or underneath for leaks?

Have you checked your TCU board for any evidence of it being fried?

It's likely your torque converter slipping... but it may be a number of things.
Have you checked your fluid level and condition? If the fluid is low, that could cause issues. If the fluid is old (it should be red, not black) then that would also cause issues. Try replacing the fluid with a proper amount of Honda ATF (to do it properly, do it once, drive the car around, and do it again... that will get most of the old stuff out.)
Don't use any additives, and don't use any fluid other than Honda ATF.
Fluid won't fix a mechanical issue, but it may buy some time before it fails completely.
For future reference, ALWAYS pay attention to your car's transmission fluid (this car, or any car in the future.) Many people neglect their transmission fluid, even if they know the importance of changing the engine oil. If former owners maintained their automatics properly, we'd have many more healthy automatic CB7s on the road right now! I've seen too many that seemed to be running fluid from 1990!

Flush was done mabe 700miles ago
Was more of a drain and refill

My mounts are just over a year old. I'm not sure if there doing there job .
I've Ben told my motor moves too much
Think its becouse there eBay mounts cuz I was broke And couldn't afford true good mounts

        I just want smoother shifts
It's shifting around 2.7k to 3.4k I am not sure that's right , can't ask it ( manual shift it anything less than 2.5k )

        My tcu seems fine

Idle is set at 750 rpm where the car has a horrible vibration to it
And it gets bad with a/c
Brought the idle up to 1k (ajusting the throttle cable) and it shifted smother and ran happy

Then replace the mounts... but I don't think that'll solve the weird shifting. It might make for less bumpiness when shifting, though.

I'm onboard with deev and Jarrett on this one, you guys are just too fast. Motor mount would be my first stop. Also never power flush your transmission as it can cause damage to the torque converter and cause this slipping. NEVER listen to the lube guys when they suggest that tranny flush! Better yet, do all the work yourself by the factory service manual. It also has a nice trouble shooting section and is great to have on hand.

I don't really understand your second post. Are you saying that you manually shift your automatic transmission? Why?

And now your issues sound idle related and not transmission related. Have you done all of the typical idle checks? Clean the IACV, set ignition timing, clean the EGR passages or even tune up? Have you bled the coolant system?
