    90-97 Springtech coilovers, any good?

So flippin through the suspensions available on eBay i wandered across these "Springtech" coilovers for 90-97 accords, never heard of em and i couldnt find anything about em as far as reviews go, but for $300 it's definantly being considered

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/1990-1997-Ho...b1df8e&vxp=mtr

if not these i planned on Truhart lowering struts and springs set shown below, theyre in the same price range but dont offer adjustability..

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRUHART-LOWE...de153d&vxp=mtr

So let me know which one you guys think this is a good route to go!

Suspension is one thing to not cheap out on. I never heard of these brands so I wouldn't trust them.

how much would a decent set of coilovers run?
im not gonna be tracking the car ever, just want to get it down maybe 2 inches.
I keep hearing about F&F1, but im not sure where to find em or how much they run?
if its up in the 600 700 area i cant do it i just dont have that much to drop into the suspension right now, maybe this winter or next spring but not any time soon lol

F&F is usually around 600. The CHEAPEST you should ever expect to go to lower your car is about $600. Hell, I actually question F&F's quality (though I have no reason to) based on that $600-ish price. It's unlikely that any company can sell a relatively low-volume product like that for so little and still make a profit unless cheap manufacturing and materials were used.
If you can't afford to do it safely, you can't afford to do it. Period.
Trust me, crashing is going to be much more expensive.

Don't forget, you're going to need camber correction, and alignment, possibly axles and ball joints (they often get damaged in the process of installation), and tires (especially if you don't address those other things right away!)

If you are looking for a 2 inch drop, why not go with shock/spring combo?

Ok, well thats on the back burner then because i just cant shell out 600 for the coilovers then more for camber correction, etc, etc.

Are there any lower cost ways of lowering my CB? i see people use shit eBay coilovers on civics all the time and theyre all fine as a matter of fact my EF had eBay coils on stock shocks and it seemed to do just fine...

not criticising ur knowledge clearly u know what ur talking about, im just trying to pick ur brain for a more cost effective way to lower the car.

If I cant figure something out thats considered "quality" i may just get some better than stock shocks and some springs..
i know it isnt ideal, or perfect but that may be all i can do for now.

                @ buzz

every where i read it says "DONT USE STOCK SHOCKS!"

i may just do it anyway lol the question then is

                1) is STAGG a good oem replacement strut?
                2) what lowering springs are "ok", doesnt have to be top of the line stuff.

Cheaper usually isn't safer. From experience, I definitely wouldn't waste my money on cheap suspension. I would do it right the first time. When I bought a budget lowering setup, it went to shit after 2 years, max! After that, I got some quality parts and changed my mind forever.

The main reason you don't use stock shocks with lowering springs is because the shocks are not made to handle such harsh spring rates.

Deevergote, if they havent wrecked from it thats fine in my book lol if it was that bad theydve already wrecked.. call it reckless, or even stupid.

I think i'll just be going with the Truhart setup unless anyone can suggest a comparably priced strut & lowering spring combo.

Like i said, i might be able to lower it on F&F1's late this winter or next spring but i dont want to ride stock height all summer and fall.

Buzz11, if ur "cheap" setup lasted 2 years max then i shouldnt see any problems with 9 months to a year on the Truhart's would you agree?

Buzz that actually helped a lot.
Saw a lot of options there, a few people on stock shocks and they didnt seem to be complaining too much actually i saw one guy say they were really nice lol
but all that did was reassure me that i should be just fine with the Truhart's if people are getting away with stock shocks.

                          ill forget the Springtech coilovers,

the Truhart shocks are sold as "lowering shocks" when u look up the shock part # and the springs are "Truhart" brand as well. So with the shocks being sold for lowered vehicles specifically and the springs not only being the same brand but paired with those shocks in a kit the 2 should be just fine together for my street driven vehicle.

I seriously may never take it down the track and i wont ever autocross it so its not like ill be kicking their ass their whole life.

Might as well just not wrap your junk next time you get laid. I mean, you CAN get kids or stids... but not everyone does.

I'm done with this thread. You're clearly determined to put cheap dangerous garbage on your car. I just hope you don't hurt yourself or anyone else if that cheap shit fails. It has nothing to do with the track. This garbage isn't safe for street driving.

                            Good luck.

My budget setup was KYB's on Tein S-techs. KYB's are basically stock replacements and the Tein S-techs are the softest, most trusted 2 inch lowering spring I could find. I bet my life that this setup is safer than those cheapos. That setup was good for about a year. But where I live, there's a bunch of rough roads. After a year, it didn't feel as soft as before. Took me a whole year to get finally make up my mind on which suspension to get next and get funds. I wish I didnt waste my money on that cheaper setup but now I know. If you end up buying those cheapos, good luck to you.
