ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    H & R springs

Is anyone riding on H & R sport springs or the race springs? These are the 1.75 front drop and 1.5 on the rear ( sport spring ) and 2.2 front drop and 2 on the rear ( race spring ). I'm just looking for some feedback on either setup. ( recommended struts etc )

H&R is my favorite brand. However, you'll need to use either Koni Yellows or Tokico Illuminas with them (as with most lowering springs.) The drop and spring rate are both too much for anything less.
Personally, I prefer Koni Yellows. I'm currently on Koni Yellows and Neuspeed Sports (identical to the H&R Sports... it's rumored that H&R makes Neuspeed's springs.) It's great. I was previously on H&R Race with the same Koni Yellows, but the drop was too much for me. I traded them to my friend (who is now also using them with Koni Yellows.)

I have the same setup as devergote. I havn't rode on H&R race springs but I do love my sports. I guess it all depends on your preference. Sports are comfortable, in my opinion, and still handle great. But you can also adjust the perches on the Koni yellows so you can raise or lower your height a bit. Maybe that will change your mind on which struts to get

On proper shocks, driven carefully on even roads, you should never "bottom out". That's usually only a problem when you're unreasonably low, driving over bad roads, or riding on shocks that aren't capable of handling the springs.

On full firm with the race springs they ride like a brick. Literally. Handles like a mofo but rides rougher than a skateboard.

I have them but dont have them installed yet. However I did ride in the previous car they were in.

I had my shocks on full firm with the race springs once... holy shit that was scary! It's amazing how dynamic the Yellows are. Easily one of my favorite mods (next to my H22, my new paintjob, and my Audi/BMW HID retrofit.)

You get on a bumpy paved road like that and at WOT you can notice the tires coming off the ground. (We have horrible roads here). They "patch" them and make it even worse.

As far as bottoming out, on full firm it happens less because the car is so stiff. I was informed of that and noticed it myself as I have now rode in two lowered CBs. The car does not squat nearly as much on full firm. But on the other hand you will need a chiropractor after a few days.

I had mine set to full firm at the track to combat squat. Worked well. But I forgot to change the settings for the ride home. I drive my car for work, and had to go to work like that the next day (I drive on unpaved roads, rough ghetto city roads, highways under construction... anything and everything.) The little adjustment knob disappeared somewhere in the car, so I had to turn the fronts down with a pair of keys. I wasn't able to do the same for the rear. Scariest workday of my life! (and I wear a bulletproof vest daily... )

Its off topic but I worked for a week as a bounty hunter when I first moved here. My brothers mother in law owns a bail bonds so I got hooked up with the job through her. Long story short I got shot in the chest through someones front door by a meth head with a 22 rifle. A 3A bullet proof vest stopped it from possibly killing me. I quit right then and there.

Its none of my business but what do you do?
