ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Tank drop

Why do you have to drop the tank on a 90 accord to replace the fuel pump.

Because the fuel pump is not accessible any other way. The pump is inside the tank. The access port is on the drivers side top of the tank. You have to remove the tank to access the bolts to remove this unit.

All cb7s. You're going to want to invest in a manual.

Guess I'm cutting a hole in my drivers side so I won't need to drop the tank.

I wouldn't recommend cutting or creating sparks of any kind around the gas tank for obvious reasons.

This guy makes it look easy, with no jackstands at that. Im glad I don't have to do it right away but it doesn't look all that hard. If nothing breaks lol

                  ^This. A million times, this.

Even if you empty the tank, the vapors are what will explode.

Just drop the tank. It really isn't that hard, especially if you're not in an area with rust problems. Replace all the mounting hardware with new, and it'll be cake to reinstall.

Got mine done today thanks to this thread. Thanks Joey GTR for posting the links.

Made my hole a little bigger for easier access. Used the original cutout to extend the cap

I had to do mine a couple years ago but it was pretty low on fuel anyways... worked out for that. it only took me about an hour and i had it done and havent had a problem since.

I use a hammer and a punch off to the side to get a hole started then I use tin snips to cut the hole out.

I don't like the idea of sparks and gasoline either. I knew a guy who burned down his house doing that in his garage. Ended up damn near killing one of his sons by smoke inhalation.

I would like a access hole to change the fuel pump. When I do this my plan is to drop the tank and then cut the hole.

I have had too many replacement parts go bad and I don't want to drop the tank 5 days after I change the pump and fill the tank back up
