Hey guys I have a 91 sedan and the chrome strip of molding that also acts as the lower outer window seal on the driver door is deteriorating. The "rubber" part that rides against the window close to the mirror has a gap in it and it's letting water into the door, messing up my door lock module and window motor. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and found a solution, like rigging a new seal on the back of the chrome or maybe a replacement part. I know the windows suck in our cars but I've fixed the issues with the other 3. This one has me stumped. Any advice would appriciated

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

You may be able to find it in the aftermarket, but it looks like it is still available from the dealer for a list price of $86.25Originally posted by Junior SmurffNevermind guys, google search works wonders!

I bought all new ones when I redid Ruby (90 LX sedan). The rubber appears to be bonded to the trim piece and gets very hard with age. I still have the old ones, but haven't attempted to replace the rubber or the felt. Unless you're trying to work with it while still in place, I suggest practicing removal at a junkyard and have new (or intact ones from the JY) available for reinstallation. You might even get one from a JY to attempt to refit a seal onto before working with your.90 LX 4dr 5 spd 396,014 (sold 1/1/2022) - MRT: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=201450

hmm one of the little tricks on the back of a can of pb-blaster, was its use on hardened toilet bowl flappers..i wonder if saturating some paper towels and wrapping a piece over night might bring back the suppleness..then some sort of rubber conditioner to keep it that wayOriginally posted by fleetw00d View PostI bought all new ones when I redid Ruby (90 LX sedan). The other part of the problem is the felt. Over time dirt, sand, etc. accumulates in it; then it starts to scratch the window glass. That is why I went with new on Ruby.90 LX 4dr 5 spd 396,014 (sold 1/1/2022) - MRT: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=201450
