ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Fuel pump issue

Well it's been a long time since i posted on here. My last cb7 didnt really last me long (long story) but recently i bought a 91 lx sedan for $350. the guy i bought it from knows nothing about cars. He told me the fuel pump "went out" so they changed it but yet the motor still wouldn't start and they couldn't hear the pump prime, so my 1st thought was main relay. I ordered the main relay and came back with cash in hand in case i got to see the car start or at least try to crank after i installed the relay, sure enough after i put the new one in she started to turn over! i was so excited, i knew she was about to start and then i heard "STOP!" I stopped cranking, looked back and saw it, fuel just pouring down the tank....

Fast forward to yesterday. I went to drop the fuel tank, 1st thing i notice is all the hoses and lines were barely reconnected they just slipped off by hand. I get the tank down annnnnd it missing one of the lines completely, the one that threads into the middle of the top of the pump, i've heard it called the pressure line but i cant find one online.... can anyone help me out????

If you can't find a good one used, it still shows as available at www.hondaautomotiveparts.com (on the pricey side). Part number 17707-SM4-A31, $121.16.

Another option is to have one fabricated. I had a new brake hardline fabbed for my CTS-V for $100. I was shocked at how cheap it was!

ok thanks for the help guys!

The guy that dropped the tank and put the new pump in brought the old assembly over and luckily it had the line still attached! So i installed it on the new one, hooked up the wires, put the tank back in, hooked up all the hoses and....

        SHE STILL PISSES GAS

now i dont know what the issue is, but the old pump assembly the guy brought over has a rubber gasket on it that he might have had to install on the new one or something like that.... When i do work on cars, or anything really, i make sure everything is as perfect as i can get it. so it has to be something the other guy before me did.

Good to hear it was a simply (mechanical) fix, lord knows electrical issues can be tricky on a 25+ year old car.
