ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Need EGR plugs!

    Hey guys,

I need to clean my EGR ports, bad. Ive tried ordering 3 times online and my order gets cancelled from various sites. Im looking for part number 17199-PT3-AHM. Can anybody point me in the direction on where to find these? Or if anyone has spares sitting in their tool box they'll never use, it would be much appreciated!!!!!!

I have nine, but if they're that rare, I think I'll hang on to them for my remaining Accord. Call you local dealer parts department and ask if they can search other dealers' inventory, then call that dealer directly. I've had dealers agree to ship me parts if pay for the shipping. The other option is to find some threaded plugs and after removing the brass plugs, tap the holes and install the plugs with a little Hondabond. If you have to clean again, you can reuse the threaded plugs.

Put in another order Saturday, hasn't been cancelled or shipped yet so we will see then Ill give my dealer a try. I am assuming I will destroy the plugs taking them out. 231k and they have never been out... On a side note, 393k on the original engine? Any major overhauls? I am debating pulling the engine, replacing the whole front end, rear main, and was thinking how involved I want to get with the engine while its out. Runs good except for EGR issue. Burns no oil. Small rear main leak, 1-2 drips a day.

Order got cancelled. Called local Honda Dealer they said two dealers in my state had them in stock. Called both of them and the best response I got was, "haha buddy there was a lot of dust in that box when I looked sorry". I suppose Ill go down to the dealer tomorrow and get a list and make more phone calls.

Or I could just delete the EGR all together and plate it off. I dont have emissions inspections on OB1 vehicles in my state. But im the kind of person that wants something to operate like it was designed. Oh well.

This would be easy and a solution for the future. If you don't have a tap, you can rent a tap set for cheap from any auto parts store or get a cheap set from Harbor Freight.

At a lot of hardware stores, you can buy just a single tap in the size you need. NOTE: If you have the manifold (or the engine) out of the car, there is a larger plug on the left end of the manifold that can be removed as well to be able to run a brush (gun cleaning kit) down the length of the drilling between the plugs on top. If you go this route, it would be best to have the manifold off the engine, and ideally completely disassembled, so that you can clean out any shavings/chips from tapping the holes.
