ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Accord vs. Prelude

Which car is lighter a 92 Accord LX or a Prelude? Just wondering cause I want to know if I should do a H22 swap or just buy a Prelude? I want the car to be light with power.

                  Good question.

The 92-96 Preludes tend to be lighter, and the 97-2001 Tend to be heavier.

I believe a 96 VTEC weighed in at about 2700LB which is about the same as an Accord LX.

                    1992 Accord LX Sedan - 2857 lbs

                    1993 Prelude VTEC - 2866 lbs

With the Prelude you get better seats, rear disc and a sunroof. For 9 lbs difference, take out the spare on the Prelude.

It'd a judgement call at this point. Personally, I like how the Prelude looks compared to the Accord.

Of course then you have to add in the trouble of finding a Prelude in good shape. The USDM motors had 10 less hp than the JDM counterpart, and far less miles.

The again the Prelude had a better suspension stock and better brakes...it's truly a judgement call. If I had my choice between the two, I would take the Prelude.

no doubt the prelude has a more beautiful flowing shape, but the good thing about cb7's are that not many tuners embrace this car. hence this provides an empty canvas for you to explore

Let me ask this question. Which would be lighter and faster, a 92 Accord LX with the same H22 vtec and the same tranny as a 92-96 Prelude? Basically which one would win the race. The Accord with a H22 motor and tranny swapped in it or a Prelude with the same motor and tranny. It's not about the driver. I'm saying if they were driven exactly the same. What are your thoughts?
