ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    i need a good clutch

i need some names of clutches like stage 1 or 2

    #2
I know this is the beginner forum, but in the future PLEASE SEARCH. There is a wealth of information on this site, and you can't expect people to spoonfeed you everything.

Names of clutches? Stage 1 and Stage 2 aren't names. There are many companies out there that make clutches, Exedy, ACT, Centerforce, XTD...they all have their pros and cons. Stages usually reflect how much power the clutch can handle. The higher the stage, the more it can handle, but also the harder it is to drive smoothly in daily driving in most cases.

If you spend some time just reading posts, there's plenty of reviews on different types of clutches and brands.

Why do you need a good clutch? What do you have done to your car? If it's lightly modified, a nice new Honda clutch will be best. If it's heavily modified, a good expensive clutch will be in order. What is right for you depends on what your needs are. A crazy aggressive clutch on a car making 110hp to the wheels at best will be overkill... and driving it will be a pain.

Normally you upgrade your clutch if you are going FI or with a heavily modified NA build, then again you can upgrade your clutch just for the hell of it, but you dont have to. Of course like mentioned different stages depend on the company. Whats your setup? Or what are your future plans? Let us know that, then it will be easier for us to help you

x2. Those mods really just need a stage 1 max. Really not much since mostly just bolt ons.

a stock honda clutch will work fine. any stock replacement will work. what plans do you have? h22 swap? turbo? nitrous? if you dont plan on going with any significant power increase dont waste your money on a crazy clutch.

how much are honda oem clutches? and how much does a shop typically charge to install? I heard as little as 300 labor to as much as 700.

And yeah, I totally agree about doing it yourself... or at least having someone help you. I had cpmike and doctorcipher help me with my clutch install a year and a half ago. It was a pain to do, even with their experience behind us... but it was a great experience, and I learned a lot. The more you do, the more you learn. It's amazing to find out how much of your car is not complicated at all!
