ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    P12 Vs. P13

Has anyone recorded any performance differences in the P13 and the P12 ECU. I’m tuning a f22a1 and wondered if a ECU change would draw a few hidden Hp out .

    IT IS WHAT IT IS

I think for the f22a1 the pt6 would be your best bet..

nope, the p12 because it was designed by honda to draw more power out of the f22a1 to make the single cam in the prelude peppy with the f22a1. the pt6 is good if you have the f22a6 cam but if you have the stock cam in your car go with the p12. if you have a bigger cam say a delta 272 or bisimoto sgt2 then the pt6 would be alright. the whole thing is the pt6 ecu is more high rpm oriented just like the motor it was made to run the f22a6 found in the 92-93 ex where as the p12 was designed for power below 5k just like the rest of the f22a1. by the way what mods do have done so far?

P13 is an H22 ECU. It would do you no good.

Honestly, anything dealing with the ECU is fairly worthless until you get some fairly extensive mods. Without at least headwork and a cam, it won't be worth your time messing with it. The PT6 is best if you get the A6 or H23 intake manifold... otherwise, there are no worthwhile gains to be had.

I had a PT6 with my A1 for a long time, and I replaced it with the original PT3 and I honestly felt the car ran better in the high RPM range using the PT3.

I cross-referenced most all of the part numbers between the Prelude S F22a1 and the Accord LX/DX F22a1, and the only difference was the ECU, and Honda rated the Prelude S at 135 hp. The ECU should be good for 10 crank hp in theory, unless the Prelude S exhaust system was so superior to the Accord LX/DX in design that it gave 10 hp.

The intake manifold, camshaft, and exhaust manifold part numbers matched the last time I checked.

Yeah, I wouldn't doubt it... But still, it seems to be a popular trend these days to expect significant gains from an ECU. 10hp IS fairly significant, but this thread shows that people are going beyond that, and following the thought process that any other ecu, especially from a more powerful engine, will give gains. That's how it seems, anyway.

i have been running a p12 ecu for a month now, no problems ant all and car is more responsive from 3500 to 6250 (auto)

works well for now, but ultimatley i would like to do the h23 intake mani/tb swap with pt6.

port and polish I plan to cam it but haven’t decided on what cam grind to go with. I have had the bottom end fully balanced . 70mm throttle body . I am in the prose of polishing the intake manifold trying to get rid of any ruff spots . I am also building a t3 t4 manifold . It currently is being flow benched.

Would the P13 be better in a turbo app?

The P13 is absolutely USELESS for an F22A. It is for an H22A. Do you know anything about the ECUs you're asking about?

If you want to modify anything, get a P06. If you want a stock ECU, stick to the PT3 or P12 for a non-IAB setup, and a PT6 for a setup with IABs.

Yeah I was thinking also the P13 would run like shit...throwing codes for VTEC and knock ETC...it looks for sensors that the F22A doesn't have...

Could there be a possibility that ecu's respond different depending on if you have a manual or auto?

The ECU doesn't really care. The way things are set up for us, we have a separate TCU for automatics. Stock ECUs don't really seem to matter, but there is a bit of a difference to consider when tuning an ECU for auto as opposed to 5 speed.

Yes I do understand that the P13 is for the H22. I have not done much with the ECUs in my tuning history . I just thought that the fuel maps in the P13 would be better in the upper RPM range .

So the consensus is stay with the P12

P12 for near stock. You'll want to do a real tune after headwork and a cam.

I'd rather have a P12 and P&P single stage manifold than a PT6 with an H23 manifold, but that's just me
