ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Battery/Alternator problems....

I have a 92 Accord LX, 2.2L, Auto. This problem I've been having, has been going on ever since it got cold outside. Well a side note: My Girlfriend was messing around with my glove department, and she got it stuck, and then tried to get it back open, and was pulling on the handle, and broke it. Stupid girl. lol.

Today, I was driving home from work. Then my Headlights started dimming, when I hit the Brake, coming to a red light. When accelerating, after sitting for about 20 seconds, the power restores, lights get brighter. Hit the brake again, this really akward whining noise starts coming from the hood. Coud it be the Alternator?

Another side note: Battery is about six months old, so I know that isn't it. New Distributor, Cap, and Roter, also.

I got home and was looking around under the hood, and one of my battery cable was corroded(SP?). Had some extra Coke in the car from McDonalds, so I poured some on it. When to start it, and it's really having a hard time. Like 7 cranks, then I hit the gas pedal, and then it starts. I'm clueless at this point. I kinda lean back in my seat, just trying to think of what the heck is the problem.

What do you know, my light inside of the glove department, has been on this whole time(like 3 days). Remember, my girlfriend broke my handle, so I had to break into this motherfucker. I screwed up my dash in the process,

I went to start it, and it started right up(1st crank). But when it starts, I still get a whining noise after it starts, then it smooths out. Is it the Alternator?

Sorry for the long post, just trying to give the reader as much information as possible, to identify the problem. Thanks.

It definitely sounds like an issue with the charging system, and probably is the alternator. Take it into AutoZone or Advance or Jimmy-Ray's Big House O' Car Parts and have them throw it on the scope and chekck for you. Most places do it for free.

And take the bulb out of the glove box socket.

Yeah sounds like your alternator for sure...if it is, better get rid of it pronto before it kills your new battery!
