    Cleaning up the exterior

I need to do a little bit more cleaning once I get a new hood from the junkyard because this one dented, but once I have that done, what all should I clean?

As in, beyond the usually wash and wax.

I know I'm going to use a liquid to bring back the black on the sides (skirts?) as well as a clay bar to smooth out the paint surface and remove some dirt because the car has been around lots of dirt these past few weeks. The paint looks really dull, could be because of the dirt though.

So clay bar and get the real black back. Before and after that a nice wash with soap and wax.

What else should/can I do? I am considering just getting it detailed, I assume they'll do all this in the process.

One day I went crazy on my paint.

First I clayed it, the 3M Imperial Hand Glaze, then Mothers Cleaner Wax, Then I think I did S100 Polish, and then Mothers Carnuba followed by that spray on Tech Wax stuff with a microfiber towel. It was crazy. I'm still working on trying to get the moldings to stay black.
