    Painted Steering Knuckles?

I'm wondering if anyone has painted/powdercoated their knuckles in a color other than black. Like a metal-like shade of silver, or maybe bronze? I'm wanting to do something different with mine, with all that black under the car. Unless it looks cheesy, then forget it. So if anyone's got pained knuckles, would you mind posting pics?

You really don't see them though. Unless you take off the wheel

I know... thankfully; I wouldn't want everyone looking at my colored knuckles. But I had the wheels off my last CB so very often, haha. It's something to do, and I'm curious

Do one and show the rest of us Might look good and is better than rust eh. When I get to fixing and swapping on my new LX Im gonna naval jelly and POR 15 all the suspension, probably in aluminum color, and use rubberized undercoating in the wheel wells and bottom pan, pretty much where ever I can

Reason most don't use colours other than black is due to them getting dirty fast and requiring a lot of attention to keep them clean. What is the sense of painting them silver or bronze if they are going to be covered in brake dust and dirt 90% of the time. Unless you are up to the task of keeping them clean.

On a show car/trailer queen I could see using a different colour. If mine was a show car I probably would have taken the time to go all aluminum/silver coloured instead of black like I did.

Unless they are blasted and powder coated, it's pointless to paint.
Because wheel cleaners and brake dust remover will eat the paint off within seconds.

              My integra

I use to wipe down the suspension every month and use cleaner wax on it and it stayed nice and clean. Driving in the rain is like a rock blaster and chips up the paint.

That's what I'm talking about. While I'm building my engine, I'm also putting together a custom setup for that whole hub area that will be completely bolt-on-ready before I get the car: 5-lug conversion, brake upgrade, traction bar, and shocks+springs. I'm wanting 17" Regamasters for my RSX anyway, I figure those could go on the Accord later on, but I got some mint Hyundai steel wheels for cheap - the guy literally bought the car and immediately took them off to fit aftermarkets. 16x6.5 +42, which is a lower offset than many aftermarket wheels (same dimensions but a few mils lower offset than my stock RSXs, which I know are pretty flush on a CB). I just think the car will look kinda mean lowered on black - flush! - steelies.

If you don't mind my asking, how much did it run you to get the crossmember painted? I'll probably end up powdercoating all the stock components, the knuckles and whatnot, a satin black. All the bearings and bushings will be replaced, so I don't want to let the car down with a nasty chassis.

My friend knows a guy, so I got it done for a "good deal"...lol
I only went this route because of that, otherwise it would have just been painted regular with rust paint. It came out good considering the condition the x-member was in. I peeled off a lot of loose rust, it is very pitted.

I'm actually in the process of powder coating my rear disk brake conversion from a cd5 so I was going to start searching for a master bushing kit which includes trailing arm bushings and the knuckle bushing to lca. reason being powder coating is done under high heat and can melt the poly bushings

I work at a custom powder wheel repair shop, some other goods

and working on these currently, going to rebuild them after

and the rear disk conversion with trailing arms

i personally think its a waste of time but if you're really going to do it i would say a silver or an aluminum-ish type color. other than that i honestly think any other color would look ricer
