Looking to upgrade using eBay headlights.

I know you want to rip me a new one BUT, this is different. I don't want to buy JDM do to price any mainly for there backwards cutoff. I'm looking to upgrade the junk ebay ones if I can . Is there a way to improve the lights ? I was thinking I could use the housing and replace the projector part with a better unit. I would rather end up paying a little more then JDM ones to have the correct cutoff. Just an idea I had.

You could do that, but I've never heard of anyone successfully opening and resealing those cheap headlights. With their poor quality, it's likely that they don't open up and reseal as easily. I have 1992-1993 JDM headlights with LHD-cutoff projector retrofit. Problem solved.

If cost is an issue, why do you need to swap anything at all? You can do a retrofit to the factory housings with a Morimoto Mini D2S projector and swap those into JDM housings if you ever come across a set.

Are you saying I can install projectors in my stock accord headlights ? If so, I would love links to more info on it.

For the record the cheap ebay POS headlights do have a cutoff shield. The lights simply suck in their design and functionality. You can retrofit any headlight you want to, OEM, JDM, ebay, etc. But this is costly as well to retrofit headlights. Your best option is to stay OEM and retrofit them but it will cost a lot. If you are simply looking for better light output try some better legal bulbs you can buy at a local shop.

Why do you want to upgrade?

I really like how projectors look. I like how they project the light. I was going to go with JDM till I read that they shine on coming drivers because there backwards cutoff. No way am I using eBay projector headlights. I had a set on my 99 Dodge Dakota . Holding a flashlight out the drivers window would have worked better. Should I just give up and live with my stock headlights ?

The RHD cutoff in JDM headlights is negated when you retrofit projectors into them.

You can retrofit projectors from the junkyard from like a BMW or something. Cheap but takes time to make it right.

Been doing a little reading and may try a retrofit on my stock housing. I may be wrong but it doesn't look to hard from what I have seen so far.

Yes. Stock headlights with a good set of legal bulbs.
