Well, there was an area on the right corner of the rear bumper of my new 92 EX that was lightly gouged through the paint. I smoothed it out and realized there was a second layer of primer and paint over the original. The more I tried to feather the edges for a local repair, the more the edges of the second layer of paint rolled back and peeled off. I could pull it off in large pieces, then the primer could be removed easily with denatured alcohol leaving the original paint looking pretty good where I hadn't been sanding; it doesn't look like they even scuffed the original paint before applying the primer. Any tips on how to proceed? I just paid too much to have a front fender and bumper cover professionally painted (to repair a minor accident); I don't want to spend a bunch more trying to salvage this one.
Area with the plastic smoothed out.

Paint peeling off.

Same area as above after cleaning the primer off.

At this point, I may try to peel the rest of the second layer off, then repaint the areas I've sanded and any areas of the original paint that are bad.
