the sales rep. from a local body shop advertises at our Advance store all the time. he's a cool guy and knows his stuff. so, i asked him to give me a quote to restore my car.

both rear quarter panels; cut out the rot, weld in new metal, smooth and single stage paint/clear coat - $250 both sides and pay for paint

or

full body restoration; dent removal, rear quarter rot, single stage paint/clear coat (7 days downtime) - $1000 and i pay for paint + new hood/trunk

now, he said i don't have to go ahead and dish out a grand and have my car down for a week. but, he told me i can take it a little at a time. i think i may do the rear quarters for $250. is this a good price? i've seen his work and it's very professional

That's really good if he's as good as you say he is. The main problem you'll have to worry about is the inner metal condition.

I spent significantly more than that to fix my car.

whatever paint i buy. he'll do the work and spray, if i supply the paint, and whatever else i want replaced (hood, trunk, etc)

i'm going to ask if he will warranty anything, just in case, but i've seen his work and it isn't cheap

I'd jump all over the quarters in a heart beat.

but, unless your quarters are the best part of your car, it seems kinda crazy to charge $750 for the easy shit.

most small dents take little work to fix, and paint is whats expensive (especially if your car is peral).... so i although its not a bad price, considering other places mark up body work alot more.
